Students and at the same time athletes were very busy at the heart of the Eagles' Nest. Ateneo De Manila Athletes were gathered in the Blue Eagle Gym to claim their respective shirts for tomorrow's University Athletic Association of the Philippines' opening day for Season 74. This blue and white squad is known for their competitiveness in the field of academics and most especially in the field of sports. Inside the four corners of the gym were the different teams just like the Lady Eagles with Team Captain Fille Cainglet and the rest of the squad still gunning for their first ever Women's Volleyball championship.

Not standing from afar were the Ateneo Blue Eagles who set a three-year championship streak in the field of basketball. The Blue Eagles are eyeing on their fourth straight Championship Title this year spearheaded by the Team Captain Kirk Long alongside his teammates and hardcourt monsters, Nico Salva, Greg Slaughter, Ryan Buenafe, plus the jackpot rookie Kiefer Ravena.

Kiefer headed straight to the dugout after claiming his shirt for tomorrow's event. Many is expected from him to be Ateneo's "Rookie by name but Veteran by Game" in their opening match against one of their rivals, the UST Growling Tigers. Trainings for the Blue Eagles are not allowed this day as ordered by Head Coach Norman Black just to give his players ample time to relax and condition themselves for tomorrow's match.

"Paps! Sa'n ka after this?" Von Pessumal, Kiefer's best buddy and one of the rookies asked Kiefer the moment he (Von) got out of the shower room. "I'll pick Alyssa sa UST paps! Then after siguro magdi-dinner na lang kami, you know pre-game rituals!" Kiefer answered Von casually.

"Can I come with you? Actually kinakabahan talaga ako for tomorrow's game eh. I hope wag ako ipasok agad ni Coach. Just thinking na siguro pag-mag enjoy ako ng kaunti maco-condition ko sarili ko. Ano Paps?" Von inquired.

Kiefer looked at his childhood best friend and snickered audibly, "Oh sure Paps! If it can make you feel better! Wag ka ngang kabahan, if ever ipapasok ka ni Coach just be yourself on the court, I'm sure nothing will go wrong naman." He said trying to comfort his best buddy.

"Thanks Paps! Ano tara?" Von asked Kiefer, and gets a nod for an answer. The duo made their way in the still-busy Blue Eagle Gym and into the parking lot where Kiefer's car, which he often calls "Suzy" is parked. The drive along Espanya was full of laughters and chitchats, very unusual for guys but a normal thing for the both of them.

They talked about the opening tomorrow at the Mall of Asia Arena, the opening game, school stuffs, and most especially girls.

The traffic was very light along the way. It took them more or less twenty five minutes to reach the realm of UST from Loyola Heights. Kiefer knew where his sister Alyssa is as of the moment and headed straight to UST's Quadri Pavillion.

She easily spotted Alyssa wearing her UST uniform with her teammate and best friend Kim Fajardo. They were on their way to the exit of UST's campus when Kiefer honked his car's horn which obviously startled the two. "Grabe Kuya ha! Papatayin mo kami ni Kimbap sa nerbyos!" Alyssa said shaking her head alongside Kim Fajardo.

"Sorry Ly, nagmamadali lang, tara hop in! Sa labas na lang tayo mag-dinner." Kiefer told her younger sibling.

Alyssa immediately shrieked in delight and bid her best friend farewell, "Bye! Bye Kimbap! See you tomorrow!" Alyssa immediately hopped in her brother's car and greeted the two

"Hi Kuya Von! Hi Kuya!" said Alyssa with her usual angel-like voice. "I heard something about having dinner, libre mo Kuys?" She added.

"Yeah! Yeah! Sa'n mo gusto Baldo?" Kiefer asked casually, letting her sister decide. "Am I obliged to answer that Kuys? I mean tinatanong pa ba yan?" Alyssa answered, giving her older brother her cutest smile.
