"Beautiful," Laos said to herself as she twirled a couple times in the mirror. She was currently wearing a gorgeous dress that was given to her by France. The reason to this is a simple one. Laos' former colonizer was hosting a gathering for all the French colonies. Laos didn't really wish to go, but it was better than staying cooped up inside.

She smiled to herself as she looked at her reflection a couple more times. But stopped when the phone on her bed rang. Laos turned away from the mirror and picked up the small device from the mattress. The reason why her phone had rang, was because someone was calling her. And this someone was a fellow ASEAN nation, otherwise known as the Philippines.

Her finger moved to tap the 'Answer' button, and she set the phone next to her ear. "Hello, Philippines. Are you almost here?" She asked the Filipino.

"Well, actually, I'm here right now! I'm right outside!" His voice rang out from the other end of the line. Yes, Philippines was driving Laos to the gathering. As well as accompanying her. But they were simply going as friends.

Laos walked over to the window, and saw a car outside. "Yes, I see that now." She alerted him with a small laugh at the end. "I'll be outside soon."

"Make sure to hurry!" Philippines responded, and Laos hung up after he said those words. She sighed, while she adjusted her hair one last time in the mirror. And she adjusted her dress a bit, she also made sure she didn't forget anything, as well as-

A loud honk was heard outside, signaling that she was taking a bit too long. She jumped up a bit out of surprise, and she hurried outside to Philippines and his car.

"Sorry for taking too long! I didn't mean to do that." The Laotian apologized once she got there. She opened the car's door and carefully sat down in the passenger's seat, making sure her dress was okay.

"It's fine, just try not to do it too much." Philippines replied with a light smile on his face. He wore a light tan suit, with a white button-up shirt. The collar of the shirt peeked out of the jacket a little. And he also wore a small Philippines flag pin on his chest.

"Of course, once again, I'm very sorry." Laos said with a small apologetic look on her face.

A moment of silence passed as Philippines looked at her dress for a second, and turned away with a small blush on his face. "You look very... pretty, Laos. Well, you always do anyways.." He muttered a compliment towards her, but his voice was barely heard when he said the second sentence.

"Thank you! But I didn't hear the last part, can you repeat it again?" Laos said to him.

"It was nothing!" Philippines dismissed, the blush that was once on his face now gone. "Let's just get going, shall we?" And to that question, Laos nodded eagerly.

After a silent ride, with the Philippines glancing at Laos from time to time, the two finally arrived at their destination. It was a luxurious hotel that was completely rented out, just for that night.

The Philippines parked the car and the two got out. Walking up to the entrance, the Philippines was amazed at the building, staring at it for a while. Laos only giggled, finding this amusing, "Classic France, let's go inside."

Walking inside, the two were instantly met with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Looking over at the end of the room, the two nations noticed France, who was waving them over.

Laos and the Philippines walked over to colonizer who was hosting the event. Not so much as a minute after doing so, Laos was suddenly captured in a strong but gentle embrace.

"Ma Cheri! I'm so glad you could make it!" France exclaimed while still hugging his former colony.

Laos hugged back the, much taller, male. She smiled into the hug and after he let go of her.
