Ugh. There he passes by again! That jerk! Hayes, freaking, Grier.

Hes so annoying!

Not even to mention I have spend pretty much every day of my life with him, because of the fact his brother, Nash and my sister Jasmine are dating!

"Stop staring, Ruth!" Hayes laughed, tauntingly.

"I prefer it being called glaring, but whatever floats your boat, Grier." I snapped.

Hayes rolled his eyes, "Nash said that Jasmine said you're going to park with us after school today."

"Why?!" I groaned. Hayes shrugged and walked off.

I was actually in an exceptional mood before my encounter with hayes. He always puts me in a bad mood.

Luckily, none of my teachers gave me homework to add to my horrible mood. I just wanted to go home and eat. But no! Once again I'm forced to go on jasmine's date. Normally, older siblings hate their little siblings tagging along on their dates, but whenever Nash and Jasmine can, they make hayes and I come!

I saw Nash's car in front of the school and got in. A few minutes later, hayes got in the seat next to me.

"I hate you, Nash. I wanted to go home!"

"Sorry, Haas."

I chuckled lightly at Nash's nickname for hayes.

"Apology not accepted, Trash Nash." Cue a chuckle from Jasmine and I both now.

We arrived at the park and Nash and Jasmine set up their picnic.

"Now go away." Nash shooed us off.

"But...but you forced us here!"

"Actually, mom forced us this time!" Jasmine shrugged. I groaned but turned away.

"Wait up, Ruth!" Hayes exclaims.

"What?"

Hayes looks behind him, looking like he was mentally debating with himself.

"Can I talk to you?" He asked.

"Were talking right now, aren't we?"

Hayes threw his hands in the air in exasperation, then took my hand dragging me to the other side of the park.

"What?"

"I like you, so much, Ruth."

"I'm sorry, what?"

"You heard me. I like you."

"That..that doesn't make sense." I shook my head in disbelief. "Why would you always tease me and act so annoyed by my presence?"

"C'mon, Nash used to always tease Jasmine before they started dating! Guys tease the girl they like! And I teased you!"

"I-" I never really thought about possibly having feelings for hayes. I've always been focused on disliking him. "I need time to think." I sigh.

He looks a little bummed, but nodded. "I understand. I did just throw it at you."

Later that night I sat on the bay window in Jasmine's room, rethinking what happened earlier.

Hayes is actually really funny. That's something I would never admit when I didn't like him.

He's also very, very attractive. I'd never say that to him at all! I'm a bit too shy to be so blunt about it.

I continued going over good and bad things about hayes and realized...I couldn't come up with many bad things.

I know nothing about relationships! What am I even trying to do?!

"Jasmine?" I ask, getting my sister's attention away from her phone.

"Yep?"

"Hayes..likes me."

"I know." She laughs. " it's hard to believe you DIDNT know." When I gave her a confused look she continued. "Believe me, Ruth. I'd never voluntarily invite you and Hayes to pretty much every single one of our dates. We did it because we wanted you guys to hangout and realize how much you actually like each other."

"Each other? I dont like hayes." I state. She gave me an incredulous look. " I don't think I do. But that's why I am talking to you. I made a list of things good and bad about hayes. There was more good than bad. Now what do I do?"

"You like him, Ruth! Get it through your head!"

And I did. I got it through my head.

I do like Hayes Grier.

The next day was Saturday, but I didn't hesitate to call hayes over for lunch. He and Nash were over in about ten minutes!

"Hey, Ruth." He grins.

"Hi, Hayes." I mumbled, shyly.

I don't want things to be awkward! Why am I making them so?!

I decided to get right to the case. "I like you too."

"Wait, are you for real?"

"I'm for real." I giggled at the way he said it.

"Then in that case, Ruth, will you be my girlfriend?"

"I'll have to think about it...yes!"
