The Eyes

Luna was glad. She really liked that part, because..there was a fairy..just like she saw. She probably thought I mentioned the fairy in the story to make her happy and indirectly apologize. And this is why i mentioned the fairy..or is this why i mentioned the fairy?

We arrived back home but something was wrong. Luna didn't seem cheerful at all. "Luna what's the matter?", i asked her placing my hand on her shoulder, she didn't say anything. I looked in her eyes. I could tell she wanted to say but she didn't want at the same time."It's stupid dad", she said after moments of silence, then i said, "Nothing's stupid Luna. If it was stupid it wouldn't have made you upset. Now tell me, what's wrong?". She sighed then, "Brandon..two days ago he promised  to stay with me at recess yesterday, but he never showed up, not just on recess, he didn't even come to school  . When i got back home he sent a message apologizing and promising to stay with me today, and he said for sure he'll come". I said, "Yeah that message i gave you, that he sent to my phone, right?", she nodded, then continued, " Well, he didn't show up today either". I checked my phone for any message from him, there wasn't. "No message from him?", she asked, i nodded, "Well..yeah..okay", she said. "Did you know why he couldn't make it?", i asked, "No. But i don't think anything is going on. If something bad is happening he would've told me! or at least he would've seemed sad! But no! he always laughs and smiles and plays as if he's the happiest person ever! He never breaks promises made to his other friends but when it comes to me he breaks two promises!", Luna said angrily, "Luna my dear listen up, just because he's laughing it doesn't mean he's happy-", "But how? Dad if something's wrong he would at least feel sad about it! seem sad!". I smiled then, "You know why you think he's happy just like everyone does?", i asked, "Why?", she asked with a low voice, i answered, "Because you looked at his lips, not in his eyes", "I don't quite understand", she said puzzled. "Roger used to know that Gwen was upset even if she was laughing and faking happiness. He could know if she was confused or happy or tired. He could know how she was feeling when she didn't tell him. And also Gwen could know how he feels when he didn't tell her, too. They looked in each other's eyes." I looked in her eyes and i could know she was confused but interested, then she asked, "How could they do it? How could they know how the other feels ONLY by looking in his or her eyes?", "Luna.. each one of us has a talent.. a gift. And this was Roger and Gwen's gift. Luna try to look in people's eyes and find out how they feel. It's not easy, not at all, but later, when you work hard on this gift, it'll be easier to tell", I answered, then added, "It's all about the eyes", she repeated, "All about the eyes".
