Living with a Wolf

Chapter Four

The next few days went without any problems, I hadn't seen Thomas much since he went on his business but it didn't really matter because I had been working split shifts since I started, which wasn't a problem because it meant I get more money and I had already worked up a pile of tips which I used to buy some new clothes and little items to make this place feel a little more homely to me.

I had made some friends too! The waiter that brought Thomas' and mines food on my first shift, Dean his name was had come into the restaurant whilst I was working with a group of people, I seemed to get along with them quite well even if I was serving them but Dean introduced us which turned into a coffee date with a couple of the girls. 

We were currently sat in Costa just talking about random girl stuff, I wasn't very interested in that sorta thing so I had zoned out a while ago. Zoe was sat to my left, she was quite an outgoing friendly person who  I noticed like to wear extremely bright colours and then on my right was Lilly, she came across a little more shy. The type of person that would blend into the background if you didn't know who she was but I get the impression that's what she likes. Both were beautiful in their own way, chuckling to myself... I definitely stood out when with them being the ugly duckling.

I was broken out of my thoughts when I noticed three men stood across the street staring very intently at us three girls, they looked very intimidating. Tall, dark and broody type of intimidating. I noticed a tattoo on one of their arms, it was a wolf aggressively showing its teeth. Interesting, when I looked up at their eyes I could swear I saw a flash of copper but I was interrupted from my staring match by Zoe "Joey, are you even listening to us?" she nudged my shoulder and I looked over to her to give her a smile "Sure I was, I just got distracted by those three guys over there..." pointing in the direction I saw the guys, I instantly notice that they are no longer there.

"What guys Jo" Lilly's soft voice brought my attention to her. Her features were bunched in a concerning way, which was nice to know someone cares  but I'm sure right now they think I am crazy.

"I am positive there was a group of guys stood there watching us. They were huge you couldn't miss them. They looked about 6'0, all bulky with dark hair and on had a massive tattoo on his arm" when I looked at the both of them I could see that they had visibly stilled, not moving a muscle.

"Could you make out the tattoo Jo?" This time there was a slight edge to Lilly's voice. It almost sounded like she was scared? But why?

"Actually I did, it was a black and white wolf showing its teeth, why?" Now maybe I am overacting but both Lilly and Zoe were white as a ghost, the colour just slipped off there faces. "Are you both okay?" Feeling a little put out, like I didn't know something!

"Of course we are? Why wouldn't we be? I'm good, Lilly are you good?" Lilly's response was immediate, leaving no room for anyone to even breath "I'm more then good" she looks down at her phone "But it seems I'm being called into work for something" she looked at Zoe as she stood up to then see Zoe stand up with her mumbling "I need to go" I watched as they rushed off down the street, picked up my Mocha and took a massive gulp.

"Well that was just straight up weird" I notice the couple sat at the table across from me look at me oddly. Guess that's my cue to leave. I had work this evening anyway, imagine eye role...I don't want anymore odd looks.

"Two hours and five minutes to go" I seriously need to stop with the who muttering thing. I was over half way through my shift and it was slowly killing me, maybe I am just not in the mood for people but I swear every single person has had something to say or need and we are already busy enough, I don't have time or people chitchatting.
