Making a difference

The meeting

Rebecca and Marcus went to sleep for a bit. I watched Lilly and Emma. There 4 and they get this world now. So there quiet.

I hear a knock at the door. My automatic reaction is tell the little ones to go in the room and in the closet. They do and I grab my gun and knife.

You never know what to expect now so you have to be prepared. I walk up to the door. I slowly open it. I let out a breathe I didn't know I was holding in when I see Maggie.

"The meeting is about to start I thought I would come and show yall where to go." she said. "Ok let me go wake up Rebecca and Marcus. Then get the little ones. I will be right back." I told her. She comes in and shuts the door.

I woke up Rebecca and told her Maggie was here. She woke up Marcus in the other room and I got Lilly and Emma.

After they were all ready we walked down the road. I started asking questions. "How did yall end up here?" was my first question.

"That's a long story but listen we all have to have trust. That's how we got to where we are. No one in our group will hurt you. You just have to give them time." she told all of us.

The rest of the way we walked in silence.  Which it wasn't far like they said. We all went to the church and as soon as I walked in I seen Rick. He was in the front and told us to come up there. We did. 

We seen a lot of people. "So this isn't everybody but the rest is working. You will get to meet them to. Soon." he said. I looked around and the first person that I seen that caught my eye was a boy around my age, 13. He was cute. I saw he looked at me too.

"One by one will come up here to meet you. First lets start with Beth." Rick said. A girl with blond hair little bit of brown walked up holding a baby.

"Hi I'm Beth and I'm Maggie's sister. I hope you like it here." she said. She was very pretty.

Next was the little boy I was looking at. He walked up he had on a cowboy hat with a star on it. He looked at me and smiled.

"I'm Carl. Rick is my father. If you need anything just you can find me. Well anywhere." he said smiled at me again.

After a hour of learning who everybody was, we started to leave. While we were leaving I heard someone yelling my name. I turned around and it was Carl.

"Can I talk to you in private?" he asked. I looked at Rebacca, "I'm gonna go and I'll be back when I'm finish I be back at the house in a few." I told her and she nodded.

"Um I seen that you were looking at me." he said. I started blushing and I let my hair go in front my hair.

He pulled my hair out of my face. I started blushing even more. "Yea sorry." I said.

"Don't worry about it I was looking at you too." he said. I looked over at him to see if he was serious. He was.

"Oh ok." I said. Then someone yelled at him. "Carl!" I turned around with him to. "Yea dad?" he asked.

"I need you to watch Judith real quick." he said. And Carl turned to look at me. "Meet me by the gate tomorrow morning." he said. "Ok?" he asked to make sure it was ok and I nodded. Before he left he grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it. I blushed. "See you then." he said then ran off to watch Judith.

I ran back to the house to take a shower and go to sleep so it would get here soon.
