It was about 6pm, and I was taking Natalie to go see the new despicable me movie, since it's all she's been talking about.
"Natalie! Come downstairs so I can brush your hair." I shout, from the bottom of the stairs.
In a few minutes she comes downstairs & I do so.
"I can't wait, Mommy can we go now? Pleaseee." She says eagerly.
"Hold your horses, just let me brush your hair up." I said.
I finish it up and grab my purse, then we head towards the door.
"Wait! You know what we forgot ?" I asked.
"What?" She says, impatiently.
"To take a selfie, duh!" I say playfully as she smiles and I pull out my phone.

We take the photo, then leave.

"Yay we're here!" Natalie says, as we enter the theater.
"How about we go get some snacks first, before going inside?" I ask, looking down at her.
He nods with a smile, god she was so adorable.
We walk up to the counter and I order two slushes, and one medium & one small bag of popcorn.
Once we get our snacks we head over to our theater.
"Mommy look! There's Uncle Jakey and he's got Carol!" Natalie says, running over to them.
"Natalie, wait up!" I shout, going over to them.
I see her hugging Carol; Jacob's niece. Her and Natalie are like best friends, they play together alll the time when she comes around.
Jacob hesitantly approached me.
Oh gosh, it's been about a week since we've talked.
"Hey Nicole uh, listen I've been meaning to call you but..."
"Oh no, it's totally fine don't sweat it." I say awkwardly, pulling a stand of hair behind my hair.
It was silent for a few seconds until Jacob took a deep breath and said something.
"Are uh you & Natalie here to see..."
"Despicable me?"
"Yeah." He says giving a slight smile.
"Sure are." I grinned, trying to keep things consistent.
"Why don't you two join us?" He offered, nervously playing with his thumbs.
"Yeah.. sure... of course ... we would love to... definitely." I reply.
Too much?
"Great, hey Carol, Natalie & Nicole are watching the same movie as us, so we're all going to watch it together." He says.
"Yay! Come Natalie let's go get seats!" She exclaims while grabbing her hand.
"Mommy, Uncle Jakey, let's go." Natalie giggles.
I ponder a little when she says 'Uncle' Jakey. Ugh Im such a horrible person.
I quickly snap out of my thoughts and get seated. I hand Natalie over her snacks and Jacob does the same with Carol.
Her and Natalie are sitting in front of us, while we're in the back.
Finally about 8 minutes or so the usual previews and what not, go off and the movie begins.
So far, it starts off well, already earning lots a laughs and smiles from the girls.
I was actually enjoying this.
A few minutes later, Jacob tapped my shoulder.
"Nicole you do know we still have to talk." He whispered.
I sighed and looked over to face him.
"What is there to talk about Jacob? We had sex." I whisper quietly.
"That's exactly what we need to talk about, what does it mean?" He whispers back.
"It means nothing, it was just sex Jacob, no big deal, just forget about it." I shot back.
"What? No big deal.. you told me to not have sex in the first place and.."
"And you did... twice Jacob, accept it and move on." I say, trying to regain my attention to the movie.
"How do you expect me to just move on?" I heard him mumble.
"What was that? I ask.
He only shakes his head.
"Nothing, you're right, I just have to accept it and move..."
"Shhh!" Someone above us said.
I look over a Jacob, he's now just staring blankly into the movie screen.
He seems disappointed.
Was that night a big mistake after all?
