breathing out darkness

I use to think,
My world was whole,
And my heart was full,
But then I lost my sight,
And could only see the darkness,
I breathed it in,
And let it out,
Trying not to let it consume me.

But as I grow use,
to this new feeling,
I begging to forget,
What once filled my heart,
People have left me,
And thrown away my hope,
As I sit on the ground,
In the middle of the day,
I see no sunlight,
I see no blue sky,
But the one thing that surrounds me,
I now know will never leave me,
Because even when light appears,
It stays with me as a shadow.

I've started to realise,
That it is my friend,
So I let it consume me,
And take over my mind,
It fills my whole body,
And dampens my soul,
It escapes when I breath,
And leaves some of its self,
In our damaged atmosphere,
Were it searches,
For someone like me,
Some one who's lonely,
And needs a friend ,
It will stay with them forever,
No matter how much you resist,
The darkness always wins,
And if I'm honest with myself,
Ever since i've let it in,
I've never felt safer,
Than when I'm with him.
