"ISAIAH!" My "deadname" (as I heard that was called) rang out above us. I winced.
"That... that sounds like my mom," I said, really worried. Kitty looked like they were in pain, but stood up.
"I'll go check if anyone is out there. Stay here, okay? Alex and Lana, maybe take her to the hide out.
"Kitty... why?" Alex looked worried, and so did Lana.
"Because. I don't want Amanda to get caught." It felt good to be called she and Amanda, but I was really worried for Kitty. Before I could object, Lana stood up, a confident look on her face.
"Kitty, if you get hurt, I'm gonna kill you. Okay?" Lana announced, standing with her fists balled. Kitty laughed.
"Okay, I promise I'll be fine." The two hugged and Lana looked satisfied. "Now, hurry! They might find the trapdoor. I'll make sure they don't get in. You all be safe as well!" Kitty rushed off, closing the door quietly behind them. I sighed, worried. Alex laughed.
"Don't worry! We have security cameras that she-I mean they don't know about yet. They're always rushing ahead, so we decided to install them secretly and they work like a charm. Lets go, we can view their progress in the hideout!" Alex put their hand on my back and lead me to another trapdoor in the ground, one that went down into a small room, dimly lit by black and white screens. I saw Kitty poke their head above the trapdoor, and once they saw that no one was around, they got above it and covered it up as fast as they could. I held my breath, worried that they might run into my parents. I heard the door creaking open just as Kitty finished covering up the couch. They sat down, acting surprised when my mom and dad entered the building. Kitty gasped, and my mom screamed happily. Both my parents rushed forwards and hugged them, while Kitty looked extremely uncomfortable and pushed them both away.
"What's going on?" I whispered, but didn't get a reply. Both Lana and Alex looked terrified. Alex was gripping my hand so tightly it hurt, and their knuckles turned white. "Guys, what's happening? Why do my parents know Kitty?" Lana choked back a sob.
"It's... it's because... well, lets just say... Kitty is your sibling."
