09:45
I hear Luka growl "Please turn it off" with a very raspy morning voice and I instinctively reach for my phone on my nightstand and tap it repeatedly trying to nail the snooze button. I nail it after what seemed like a thousand tries. I sit up and stretch as Luka turned his body to the other side. "Did you finish the movie?" I ask and Luka turns back to my side and opens his eyes. "Which one?" he responds, "After you slept during A Simple Favor, I ended up binging Parks and Recreation." He adds on and shuts his eyes again.
I join Luka return to sleep but another interruption occurs as soon as I shut my eyes. "S! Wake up sleepy head!" Adriana cheers as she steps into my room. "Not now Adriana, it's literally 6am." I cover my entire body with my white sheets.
"It's actually about to be 10am." Adriana's voice responds and Luka abruptly jumps out of bed. "10am?!" He screams, "I have a breakfast date. Shit! Sam, I swear I'll tidy up everything when I get back but I really need to go shower right now."
"Don't stress about it, Luke owes me for catching him having sex with Skylar last week. Just tell him today is the day, he'll know what you're talking about."
I also spark up courage to get out of bed and I find Adriana skimming through my closet. "What are you looking for?" I ask her as I open my curtains and windows.
"An outfit for you, duh."
"Good luck, I'm gonna go make cereal or something." I announce as I drag my feet out of my room.
11:15
"God Sam, I got here before 10 so we could be out before 11. I'm sure we're gonna be late for the nail bar. Emma and Cheryl have already started with their new sets." Adriana complains and I continue as if I didn't hear a word she said. "I let you pick my outfit, isn't that enough?"
I actually really don't want to leave my house today. I understand and appreciate what Adriana is doing but I'm really not up for it. Don't get me wrong, I love my girls but I can already hear Cheryl accidentally bringing up the breakup or, God forbid, we run into the boys whilst we're out.
"He never deserved you babycakes, you were always too good for Nathaniel." Adriana pulls me out of my train of thought and gives me a tight hug. A hug I needed. She is a very good friend, she always has been.
Adriana and I have been friends for what seems like forever. We are those girls who met in kindergarten and never stopped being friends. We hung out so much that our parents became friends.
"Thank you Adriana." I carefully wipe a tear from my face, trying to not ruin my makeup and I can the frustration on Adriana's face. "I swear to God Sam, the next time I see Nathaniel I'm going carve his eyes out."
"Those beautiful green eyes." I let out without even thinking and Adriana sighs and heads in for another hug. Gosh Adriana gives amazing hugs.
I wonder what Nathan's going through right now. Is he crying? Can he also not seem to get out of bed? Does he also kinda wish that we could start over?
"Like Adriana, when did everything go so wrong?" I throw myself on my bed. "I mean just two weeks ago, we were happy and everything was perfect. I just don't understand."
"But none of this is your fault S. It's not your fault that Nathan is a lying, shady piece of shit." Adriana stands up and opens my closet again. "Which of these stuff are his?" She asks.
"None." I respond. "It's all in the laundry room." I wore his clothes a lot. His hoodies and crewneck jerseys always made me feel safe.
"Alright," She turns to me, "we have to burn them."
I start giggling. "There she is!" Adriana cheers, "Now get up so we can go show that piece of shit what a bad bitch you really are."
14:50
"I can't believe it." Cheryl almost chokes on her ice tea and passes her phone to Adriana.
"If it has to do with Nathan, you can say it. I promise I won't freak out or breakdown or something."
"The boys just left for Hills Forest." Adriana announces and is clearly annoyed because Sean, her boyfriend, probably didn't tell her. Sean's dad owns a beautiful cabin located in Hills Forest which is a 30 minute drive away.
"Do you think they knew?" I ask the girls and they seem taken aback by the question.
"I really want to say no but they're Nathan's boys." Emma answers and both Adriana and Cheryl sadly nod.
I feel back stabbed. Sean; Beau and Jeremy are like brothers to me, well at least they were. I don't want to believe that they knew about what Nathan was doing and did nothing about it, I refuse to believe that.
"I'm just disappointed, that's all." I begin sucking on the straw of my empty ice tea cup.
"You know what? I'm not going to let you sit here and feel sorry for yourself, we're going out tonight. Nathan is on his way to Hills Forest, which means he's going to drink and be an idiot this whole weekend." Adriana stands up, "Shall we get ready at my house?"
"Adriana, it's only 14:56." I remind her.
"Oh well that's enough time to rest, plus look around. We're at a mall, let's get new outfits or something" Adriana pulls me up and Cheryl and Emma also stand.
21:20
"You weren't supposed to take that long." Cheryl whines as I walk down the stairs from Adriana's bedroom wearing a beautifully fitted emerald green two piece with one of Adriana's many LV slippers.
"Perfect takes time always, Cher." Adriana responds for me.
"Dads, don't wait up!" Adriana screams as everyone prepares to leave.
"Be safe ladies! Send my love to you mother Samantha!" David, one of Adriana's dads, screams from the kitchen.
We get into the silver Toyota Corolla that was waiting for us.
...
"Actually Sam, I've been meaning to ask what actually went down." Emma asks as the Uber pulls out of Adriana's large driveway.
"Nope, we're not talking about that. At least not tonight." Adriana shuts Emma up, "Tonight is about us. No boy talk."
"It's funny how it took me getting dumped for us to have a girls night out again." I giggle and no one laughs with me. "C'mon guys. Sir, can I connect to the bluetooth?" I ask the driver to break the awkwardness in the car.
