Herc: He helped win the war and went back to New York to start his own tailor-shop. He tells everyone who comes in about John and Alex.

Laf: He was seen as a 'war hero,' although he tries denying it and saying John and Alex were the real heroes and without them he wouldn't have had the motivation to join the war.

Aaron: He realized he secretly liked Alex the whole time and after hearing about what happened, went into solitude, only speaking with John's family. Until, that is, Theodosia came, and he tried to move on. He couldn't fully get over Alex but he tried.

John's family: They help tell Alex and John's story. They also help Aaron deal with the loss until he is able to move on. They were successful in telling the story and John and Alex's legacy got passed on for many generations to come.

Washington: He helped tell their story until he passed away, and his story started getting told. He was known as the 'Ultra War Hero' for starting the camp that helped train so many amazing soldiers.
