It has been four days since the last time I see Austin Harrington in the house beside mine. The workers from GOGO HOUSE CO. had been moving furnitures into the house next door. Beds, wardrobes, drawers, couches, lamps, mirrors and a lot more that you can fit into your house. Dad told me the Harringtons used to live in the next neighbourhood but decided to move into my neighbourhood because it is nearer to West Mount High. Mr.Harrington wants the boys to live near the school so that Austin wouldn't have any reason to be late to school anymore.
On Tuesday, Mia and Jennifer ambushed me with questions that I couldn't answer. "Where were you yesterday during History?" Asked Mia. I opened my mouth to answer but Jennifer interupted me with another question, "Lola said you were with Austin Harrington. Is that true?" "That is-" Just before I could continue, Mia shot me another ridiculous question. "Please don't tell me you are dating Austin Harrington! Are you? You have a hell lot of explaining to make, young lady!" "I thought you have a crush on Andrew. You can't differentiate the both of them?"
"STOP!" With my hands covering their mouths, I breathed and told them the what happened. After the end of story telling, they gave me a dramatic reaction. "Oh... my... globe!" Both of them voiced out at the same time. I rolled my eyes and said, "Look, he was just trying to piss me off." "Piss you off? More like put you on fire! You're blushing, Tori!"
Just like that, I spent the whole lunchtime explaining and defending myself.
On Wednesday, I met Andrew in Advanced Mathematics class again. He took the seat next to me and greeted me-by calling my name! (I faint, mentally). "Tori, looks like we're gonna be neighbour soon," Andrew walked me to my locker. I had no idea and was unprepared for what came that day. I should had follow my instinct and put on skinnny jeans instead of a pair of old pants. "How do you find out-" My voice grew softer and softer when he locked his gaze on my eyes. Those emerald green eyes could have killed me within seconds. My hearts melts.
"Well, my dad told me we will be neighbours with the Mason family. The only person with the last name Mason in school is you, Tori." Isn't he a genius? "Tori?" Andrew waves his hands in front of my face. "Yeah?" He let out a chuckle and pinched my left cheek, "You're cute. I'll see you around." He left after giving me one last smile. I die due to melted heart.
And on Thursday, I met Austin and his friends when I grabbed frozen yogurt with Mia and Jen (our nickname for Jennifer). A curvy blonde girl was sitting on his lap and feeding him frozen yogurt. My face twisted in disgust and he caught my expression. Smirking, he called me 'baby girl' with a volume even the aliens in Uranus might hear. The blondie sent me a dead glare and yelled at Austin, "Who is she? Why are you calling her baby girl?" The way she said baby girl as if the two words are covered with germs and worms. I shake my head. "We're over,"says blondie.
Before she left the shop, Austin passed her a last message, "Hey Monica," blondie looked back at him. "We weren't even together." His friends made kissing sound to embarrased blondie. Blondie then left after pointing a middle finger at Austin. He walked towards me while my friends behind me sounded like they will die in lack of oxygen. "Hey baby girl," his voice still husky and deep. "You won't quit calling me that, won't you?" I asked while breathed fire out from my nostrils. "You grew hotter." He stood in front of me and leaned in closer to me. It was only a couple inches between my face and his.
"Oh my globe!" Mia and Jen squeaked from behind. I inhaled deeply and used my finger to push Austin's forehead. Immediately, he caught my hand and kissed it lightly before leaving the shop with his friends. Jen shook my shoulder while Mia examined my hand.
My friends are being dramatic.

"Hey kiddo," dad greets me when I enter the living hall. I throw my bag pack off my shoulder and lay on the couch lazily. My dad is sitting on his own couch with floral prints on it. I used to make fun of the chair, saying it's a granny chair. But my dad insisted in keeping it. He said it is comfortable. "Hey dad, anything fresh happened today?" I ask. "The Harringtons moved in," he shrugs but I sit up immediately. "What?" I react. "They moved in next door, anything wrong?" Mum steps out from the kitchen, wiping her hands with a white table cloth. "No- Nothing," I sigh. "I invited them over for dinner tonight," says mum proudly.
"No!" I stand up on my feet-my parents are taken aback by my reaction. "What's wrong honey?" Mum put her hands on my shoulder, examining my expression. "Don't you wanna make new friends?" New friends? Easy to say than to be done with the Harrington brothers! Not that they are mean but open your eyes widely, mum! They are the hottest and most popular guy in school! I don't think I can eat much tonight! Looking at them shall make me full.
I smile bitterly and hurry off to my room. I slam the door shut and throw my bag on the chair in front of my study table. I look out the window and see closed up curtains from the room. I wonder who has the room opposite mine. Please be Andrew! Please be Andrew! The curtains is in navy blue, boy style. I wish I could see more. Since the Harringtons are coming over to have dinner at 6, I have to get ready before 5.30PM. Looking at the clock which shows the time 3.30PM, I decided to take a shower and nap.
"Tori?" Someone is calling my name. "Tori, wake up!" Warm, comforting and husky voice of a man. His face must be closed to mine that his breathe is tickling the tip of my nose. Wait, a man!? I open my eyes widely and see him. Immediately, I return into the prettiest state I can be. I wipe my cheek and realise I had been drooling when I fall asleep. How embarrassing?! Quickly, I comb my hair with my fingers and put on the best smile I can have. "Hi Andrew," I greet him.
Andrew chuckles and sit on the edge of my bed. He uses his fingers to comb a strand of my messy bangs. Feeling bashful, I look down on my bed comforter and mutter a simple 'thank you' to him. The sudden silence in my room makes me nervous. I feel my cheeks grow hotter and hotter, heart beats faster and faster. I wipe the sweat on my palms on the comforter. Andrew hold onto my right hand and put it on his chest- across his heart. I look up at him in confuse but he lock his gaze on me. I am filled with indescribable fear and butterflies in my stomach as I gaze back into his green emerald eyes, like a piercing electric, his eyes melt my heart.
"Tori," Andrew lifts up my chin with another hand. "May I kiss you?" He asks and I feel his heart pacing up in a great speed under my palm. He is as nervous as I am. I nod my head and close my eyes- feeling Andrew closing the distance between us. I could feel his warm breathe on the tip of my nose but the distance remains the same after a while. Feeling curious, I open my eyes slowly and see a smirking lips forming on Andrew's face. His emerald green eyes are now in two pools of light green with shades of brown. Wait a second, this isn't Andrew!
"Hey baby girl," Austin teases me while closing the small inches between our face. And I, scream at the top of my lungs.
"Oh my globe!" I sit up on my bed and run my fingers through my messy hair. I look around the room to confirm is there any strangers in my room. Seing there is no one in my room except me, I sigh in relief. "Just a dream Tori, just a dream." I pat my chest and look at the clock beside my bed.
5.45PM
Just in time. I stand on my feet and get ready for dinner, with the Harringtons. Wish me luck!
