"I'm home!"
Even though there is no one home at this time, I always shout out loud like this to release all the stress from school. My dad is the town sheriff while my mum volunteers to help in the orphanage. She prefers spending time taking care those unfortunate children than staying home alone. I think it's good for her.
I enter my room and immediately lay comfortably on my bed. I like the design of my room. It is white-based wall with mostly white furniture. But I painted my ceiling in navy blue and drew constellations on it. Capricorn, Orion and Apus (Bird of Paradise). My favourite has always been Apus. It is not easy to be seen as the starlights are dim but it makes Apus special. They have always been the last thing I see before I sleep. I wonder what is Andrew's horoscope. I would like to draw his on the ceiling.
"Tori!" Dad is home. "Yes dad?" I scramble my way out my room, down the stairs and meet my father who just shut the door. He throws the keys into the wooden bowl by the door and takes off his jacket. He then greets me with his warm smile. "Hey there kiddo," he gives me a hug. I haven't seen him since Saturday. "Have you eaten?"
"During lunchtime in school, yes," I reply.
"Well, your mum needs to spend a night in the orphanage tonight. One of her colleague who takes the night shift got into a car accident," says dad.
"I guess it's father-daughter time tonight," I shrug. My dad shuffle my hair and walks to the fridge-probably getting the pasta my mum made last night. Or milk. "I'll try kiddo," he sips a glass of milk. "I need some rest." I nod in understanding and reply, "Or I can get Chinese food tonight." "Up to you. You are allowed to get money from my wallet," he walks up the stairs and shut the door of his room. "All by myself again."

I sit on the chair facing the house next to mine. My table is scattered with pens, colourful highlighters, notebook, Biology textbook and homework for Physic. I look out the window to the house next to mine. The engineer really did a great job designing windows of the houses facing one another(sarcasm sensed). Before old Mr and Mrs.Kingsley moved away, I was lucky to be facing the empty room opposite my room. My father once saw Mr.Kingsley taking off his pants without even bothering to shut the window. Now that they have moved away to Mississippi, the house next to mine is empty and ready for sale. How I wish a family with hot son will move in and he lives the window. What a view.
I shift my gaze from the dark empty room to the books on my table. I need to complete homework and revision by 8PM.
"Hey there baby girl," I heard a familiar husky voice coming from the window opposite my room. At first, I have goose bump all over my body as I think of supernatural occurrance. Maybe I've watched to much horror movie. But when I lift up my neck and shift my gaze from the books in front of me to the opposite window, my jaw drops.
"Austin?"
Yes, Austin Harrington in his initial black biker jacket is right in front of my eye. He stands in front of the window with his elbow on the window and one hand cupping his face. His hair is a bit messier with strands of hair kissing his forehead, some linger on the tips of his eyelashes. How can someone look so amazing without even putting efforts?
"You miss me baby girl?" His deep husky voice makes my heart skip a beat. I pat on my chest and return him a fake smile-replying "You wish."
"Oh, you don't know what I wish for baby girl. I wish to sneak into your bed, kiss your rosy little lips and take off the blue sweater you're wearing-"
"Stop!" I hold my palm up to stop him. I close my eyes and let out a long sigh. He is really trying to annoy me. "Save that for other girls. It won't work on me."
"Oh really? Then what is gonna work on you baby girl?" His forehead creases and eyebrows pitch together as he read my expression. I blink my eyes and try to look away.
"Is it my hair? My lips?" His finger points to the body parts he mentions. All I do is shake my head and answer "No".
"Is it my biceps?" I give him a disgusted look.
"Is it my abs?" Austin pulls up his blue shirt-revealing his tanned six packs. My jaw drops and my heart starts pacing up. How I want to trail my fingers on his abs right now. Wait, what?
"Baby girl," he calls me and I realise I was drooling over his fine built body. He catches my reaction and let out a small chuckle. "Oh, so it's my body that would work on you."
"What? Pffft, no." I try to regain my pride and act cool.
"I won't wear anything when I'm in this room. I promise you, baby girl," he smirks and looks right into my eyes.
"This room? That isn't even your house!"
"You know what, baby girl?" I answer. Why do I answer him? I'm not his baby girl. "The Kingsley couple sold this house to the Harrington family," he shakes a bunch of keys in front of my sight.
No! No! No! This can't be real. Austin Harrington in that room, opposite my room? I will die in this hot room! Wait, what? No. He will annoy me so much I can't take it anymore and I jump off the window and die (I'm being dramatic. How can I possibly die from jumping off a two-storey house?). But it's Austin Harrington! The most popular guy in school with the slicked back hair, delicious looking lips, well tanned body with abs and also, the pools of green eyes that make every girl lost in it.
Austin interupts me, "My baby girl is so happy that she went speechless." I wanted to retort but he cut me off. "Time to go. Bye, neighbour," he waves and winks at me. Oh boy!

"No! No! No!" I cannot believe it! The Harringtons are moving next to me? It will be a disaster. Austin Harrington won't quit picking on me. I lay on my bed grumpily and cover my head with pillows. I scream at the top of my lungs against the pillows-hoping dad won't hear it in his deep sleep.
Suddenly, a thought strikes me. If the Harringtons move in, that means Andrew is going to be my neighbour too! I sit up and start to jump on my bed-hugging my pillow at the same time. I laugh and kick some pillows off the bed. Wouldn't it be great? Andrew as my neighbour but Austin...
I know Austin is going to pick that room. God, please let Andrew pick that room. I stop jumping when my stomach starts grunting. I look at the clock and realise it is already 6.30PM. I let out a frustrated sigh and order Chinese food.
