Louis followed Harry along the same route they walked earlier that morning, he snuck a few glances at the man curiously as they walked, wondering what on earth Harry could possibly be thinking about.

Harry was focused on the task at hand, he was going to find his mum, find his family with Louis' help. He was certain of it. But this was going to be the hardest thing he's probably ever had to do in all of his life. Saying goodbye to the gorilla who was basically his mother figure, it was going to be tough.

Tougher than the first time he had to open a mango all by himself all those years ago.

The pair arrived just minutes later, Harry pulling back a few low-hanging branches to allow Louis to walk back into the nesting area. "Where's your gorilla mum?" He asked, looking up at Harry before he looked around at all the gorillas, immediately looking away when he caught a glimpse of the alpha gorilla already watching them.

"No," Harry answered as he scanned around, "yes, mum gorilla," he suddenly nodded, walking straight towards the gorilla who was sitting near the abandoned sketchbook Louis left the previous night. He sat next to her and let out a soft grunt to get her attention, sparing a glance at Louis when the man picked up his book from the ground.

Louis decided to keep a bit of a distance away from all of the gorillas, especially the alpha. The last thing they needed was to cause problems the day Harry was probably leaving the jungle for the rest of his life. He skimmed through his book, though he kept an ear alert for anything from Harry.

Harry shared a few little noises with the gorilla, letting her pick at his hair while he gained the courage he needed. He looked up at her with a grim look, letting out a sad little noise, one he knew usually meant 'leaving' because he witnessed her sharing the same noise before she walked away from him before. Though this was more than a few hours apart, this was it, his goodbye. He wished he could express himself better.

He felt like he didn't fit in anywhere just yet. He couldn't remember enough English to talk with Louis. He could only replicate so many noises to talk to communicate with the gorillas. He was out of place and it was frustrating him to no end. He continued letting out little noises, motioning towards Louis a few times, trying to assure the gorilla that he would be okay.

She looked at Harry, her large hand moving to hold the back of Harry's head, something Harry assumed to be her way of expressing affection since she'd been doing so for years. Harry closed his eyes and moved to sit in her lap, curling up just as he did after months of being around the wildlife. She grunted softly, her free arm now wrapping around Harry in an embrace.

Louis watched in awe, it was like the gorilla knew Harry was upset about leaving. He wished he had his camera on hand to be able to capture this moment for Harry. In that moment, he quickly opened his book to a new page, grabbing the extra pencil he kept in the sleeve of the book. He sketched out the gorilla and Harry in the exact position, giving as much detail to the sketch as he could with the few materials and little time he had. It wasn't the best, but he knew it'd be enough to work with to create something better for Harry.

He gave Harry all the time he needed, understanding it would be difficult to leave if he had been here for quite some time. Nearly twenty minutes or so passed when Harry raised his head and pressed his nose against the gorilla's.

Harry closed his eyes, letting out one more little grunt before he pulled back and gave the gorilla one last look. His heart was aching, he wanted to stay but his desire to see his real mother again was too much to risk losing this once in a lifetime opportunity. He looked up at Louis, "bye mum gorilla now," he nodded slowly, his eyes were burning from fighting back tears, he didn't want to cry in front of her or else she'd think this was a bad idea.
