Finally Saturday came- this party could either make of break my relationship with Josh (cue dramatic music) I was a mix of emotions- excited at the prospect of moving a step forward with Josh, as well as anxious and feeling like I was going to throw up (though that might have something to do with the dinner I cooked myself last night) Welcome to the life of a teenager.
Macey rang after breakfast asking if I wanted to get ready at her house to which I responded that Josh was picking me up here. We decided that she would come over here instead. She would have to do my make up as my hands would probably be shaking too much. Ok, I may be over reacting just a teeny bit, but can you blame me? I've spent over ten years pining away at this guy from a distance.
Macey insisted that we need to go shopping, I had to buy a new dress to impress Josh, apparently. But I have literally no money- just another perk of being a teenager.
So instead I laced up my running shoes and headed to the woods. A few miles would give me time to sort out my fucked up emotions.
I sure would miss this woods. Many hours I would spend here, running or climbing or just sitting on a log listening to music. I really hope our new house is near to a woods or just somewhere I can run without encountering people who I have to awkwardly smile at and mumble a hello and god forbid they actually talk to me and I have to stop and take out my earbuds. Ugh. The struggles.
I had run for about 30 minutes when I realised I had taken a wrong turn and was actually running away from my house rather than towards it. Shit! It was already 6.45pm and I still had to shower before getting ready.
I ran back as fast as I could and burst in the door, red faced and panting, 50 minutes later. Macey was sitting nonchalantly on the kitchen counter making her way through the bag of tortilla chips.
"Oh, finally. Thought you'd never get here. You're parents aren't back yet by the way." She said, barely looking up from her phone as she talked.
I grabbed a glass of water and proceeded to stretch as Macey informs me that she has already layed out the perfect outfit for me and has researched make up looks and knows exactly what kind of look she is going for (yes, Macey is that kind of girl, turning into sergeant major and barking orders for something as simple as getting ready for a party. But I would be lost without her either way. I honestly don't know what I will do without her when we move.)
"Speaking of getting ready, you need to get your butt into the shower, you are covered in mud and only have... an hour and 20 minutes to get ready." Macey said as she marched me up the stairs despite my protests.

Twenty minutes later I emerged from the bathroom with my hair twisted up in a towel.
"Aww, you look cute as a drowned rat." Macey commenting from where she was dusting some powder on her face from where she was sitting at my desk.
"How kind you are. Gonna miss your heart warming compliments when I leave." I say sarcastically as I eye the white dress that came to mid thigh that was laying on my bed. I sighed at the memory of buying it with mum, back when she actually had time to do things with me. Back before work consumed her life.
"What are you waiting for?" Macey practically screamed at me, waking me up out of my day dream, "We have limited time here and I still have to do your make up and hair."
I slipped into the dress and then sat down as Macey buzzed around me carrying various things from curling wands and hair spray to an eyeshadow palate that looked more expensive than half of the clothes in my closet. Finally, she was satisfied. She squealed loudly as I put on the shoes she had picked out and looked at myself in the full length mirror. I must say- she didn't do half bad. I smiled at myself in the mirror. Call me vain, but I looked nice. The makeup accentuated my cheek bones and complimented the colour of my eyes.
"Thank you so much Mace.... I, i don't even know what to say right now..." I trail off as I continue to stare at the transformed me.
This is the new Ally, the confident Ally. The Ally that... is going to tell Josh that she likes him. Yup, you heard, or read that right. I'm going to tell Josh, everything. So what if he thinks I'm weird and never talks to me again? I'll be moving to a different continent in a week anyway, I probably will never see him again.
This is it... make or break.
