Chapter Four: Freak with a Fiance and Lover

"Iiiiiiiinteresting, tell you what, I'm gonna go into the bathroom for a while and probably scream so don't be alarmed by that." Pushing my chair back, I was about to turn away when Jared materialized in front of me.

"What the-" I turn to see an empty chair where Jared was originally sitting, "I can't even right now." Turning back to him, I found him watching cautiously as if I was a wild animal about to pounce. "Jess.." He started, "Please, just listen." Taking a deep breath and counting to ten in my head I fixed a perfect smile onto my face. "What about we go out for some food, I'm feeling quite hungry, are you hungry?" Sidestepping him, I started reaching for my keys when Jared erupted.

"CAN YOU FUCKING JUST SIT DOWN AND LISTEN?!" Spinning on my heel, I felt the anger that I have been pushing down blow right up in my face as I marched up to him and hissed, "No you fucking listen to me. A random stranger calls you out of nowhere and sounds like a freaking girl you can have phone sex with. With a voice like that you can imagine how hot she is in real freaking life. Now, that's okay, I could handle that because she was an old friend but to find out that she was your first love, that's a no no zone. We're engaged, and in the movies shit like this always happens and I'll be damned if I'm the one who ends the marriage right here, right now so early. I need time to cool off, to process something like this. That was a fucking blow to my heart because not once have you mentioned her before and I could tell from your facial expression that years of emotions hit you like a train and you remembered her...." There was a pause.  "You remembered the love you had for her." I was about to walk away when I let off a hollow laugh. "My bad, the love you have for her."

Grabbing my keys, I walked through the front door feeling tears run down my face, as I begged God to I make him run after me and tell me it wasn't true, I even stopped watching my door. Waiting. But he never came. Running to the car, I sat in the front seat crying until, I took out my phone and dialed an all too familiar number while putting my car in drive and went to my favorite park.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL FRESH HELL! HE NEVER TOLD YOU ABOUT ROSA??"  Mikayla's voice rang out over the phone as I cried to her about my current situation. A sharp pang shot through my already wounded heart at the sound of her name. I mentally prepared myself before answering Mikayla's question.

"Not even once." I turned to peer through my car window. Smiles. Laughter, all around me. Why is everyone so damn happy today?

"Wow and me being the dumbass I am just assumed that since you guys got so serious you knew these things already. And well, it's not my place to tell you this story because trust me it's a real romance novel kind of story. Just know this Jess he loves you, like he really does. I've never seen him this invested in someone since her. I mean you guys are getting married for Christ sake. I'm not saying what he did was smart or right, I'm saying before you do anything drastic just listen to him and hear him out."

I could do that.. right?

Agreeing was the only way Mikayla wasn't going to take a plane down here in order to fix things so as soon as agreed I hung up and just sat in my car thinking of all the possible things I could do. I could just listen to what he has to say, but that'll make him think I'm head over heals for him which I am but you can't let the haters see your every move.
Sighing, I leaned back in my seat while my phone started ringing and ringing continuously which showed that Jared wasn't tired from notifying me that he needs to speak with me as yet. I stayed like that until I decided that maybe talking to him was the reasonable thing to do. Turning back on the engine I drove back home and saw Jared pacing outside. Before I cut the engine he was at my door and pulling me from the car.

"You're wrong Jessie, and stupid. Yes she was my first love but you're the love of my life, please let's not fight let's talk this out. I was going crazy thinking of where you could be. I -" Stopping him, I stepped out of his arms.

"You're such a weirdo, but I love you too and I won't let something like this make me angry, if you says it's nothing I'll believe you. But why didn't you tell me I'm beginning, why did you wait?"

"I don't know, I just felt that maybe if I buried it that would've been it, but your past always comes back to haunt you." He smiles, pulling me back to him.

"I love you Jessie, you're all I want in my life and I'll be damned if I lose you, you're the greatest thing to ever happen to me." Leaning down he steals my breath with a kiss so sincere I feel myself melt in his arms.
