Chapter Sixteen

The placemarks on the map turn into an actual camp. Lorena and Barbossa stare at it. Gibbs comes up from behind the two.
"Lorena?" Gibbs asked shocked to see her instead of Jack.
"Hello Gibbs nice to see you too,"
"Where be Jack?"
"With Blackbeard why? Not happy to see me?"
"Of course I am happy to see you. It's just your never without Jack,"
"Shh! Be quiet the both of you," Barbossa's hissed but gestures for Gibbs to come on anyway.
"Touche," Lorena says rolling her eyes.
She hated being with Barbossa's but it wasn't like she had a choice at the moment.
"You stole my brothers map by the way," she says as she flicks him on the nose.
"Right. Best be started,"
Barbossa and Gibbs begin leave without her.
"Hey wait for me," she says running to catch up with them.
"So tell me Ms. Sparrow.... How have things been since we last saw each other?"
"They've been good Mr. Gibbs. Will proposed to me,"
Gibbs had widened his eyes.
"What was that lassy?"
"William Turner Proposed to me," he says letting him see her ring.
"And how does Jack feel about that?"
Lorena sighed thinking of her brother.
"He hates it for one. And two he thinks I'm going to leave him for Will,"
"Well..... Are ya?"
"That's the problem Gibbs..... I don't honestly know. Will wants me to leave piracy behind to stay with him, but I don't want to leave my brother behind,"
"That be a tough choice to make lassy.... But Will has done you wrong so many times I can see why Jack hates the thought of losing you to him. He loves you like crazy I honestly think he'd be lost without you. The two years you were gone he wasn't himself but now that your back he's slowly becoming the Jack Sparrow we all know and love,"
"What do you mean he wasn't himself?"
"Well for one he'd literally drink himself to death drowning in his sorrows over you, sometimes he'd say your name talking to himself like you were actually there and last most of the time he wouldn't come out of his cabin,"
Lorena frowned she didn't know what to say at this point. Jack is practically broken without her and she could see why, he practically raised her and she is all that he has left, yes there dad is out there but he's never with them. Jack wouldn't have anyone to protect if she left him for Will. Jack wouldn't have anyone by his side.
Gibbs, Lorena, and some of the HMS Providence crew make their way through bamboo jungles a little while later.
"What's your play, Lorena? Throwing in with Barbossa the man who did you wrong so many years ago,"
"Well my brother for one. Blackbeard has him and threatened to kill him if I don't come back,"
"Just as I suspected,"
"What?" Lorena asks raising her eyebrow.
"You'd be lost without each other which is why I'd say leave Will and stick with Jack he is family,"
"Gibbs I love Will. How could you say something like that? Will and I were destined for each other,"
"Don't give me that Ms. Sparrow, how many times have that man betrayed and hurt you? Do you really want a man like that? You deserve better,"
"Master Gibbs I love Turner no matter how many times he's hurt me I'll always love him,"
They stop walking as Gibbs rolled his eyes at her. He was trying to convince her how bad Turner really was for her.
"Lorena are you that blinded by love that you don't see the truth?"
"I'm not blinded by anything I know our love is real. He'd do anything for me and I'd do anything for him,"
"Lorena, he left you to die in the hands of the Kraken, he left you the first time you were with him, and he betrayed you again with Sao Feng. Remember him?"
"Yes but I forgave him. You can't hold a grudge forever Master Gibbs,"
"What if he does much worse like cheat on you or him leaving you alone when your pregnant or something,"
"HE WONT!" She shouted causing everyone to stop and stare for a moment before continuing forward.
"Look all I'm trying to say is Turner's no good for you Lorena,"
"Thank you Master Gibbs but I'm free to choose on who I love. And if loving Will is what's going to make me leave Jack then I'll do it because that's what love is. Love is a bond where you don't want to let that person go no matter what they've done they'll always come back to you, to care for you, to treat you like a queen, Will is my King and I'll follow him anywhere he goes even if that means leaving my brother and piracy behind," she says walking away from Gibbs.
The group finally comes upon a Spanish Camp.
Lorena approaches Barbossa's as she began to speak to him.
"Stealth over force, I'll take it from here on account of your condition. You don't have termites, do you?"
"I appreciate your concern, love, but I'll be keepin' you company, all the same. Hold here, Lieutenant Commander. Wait for my signal,"
Groves his first Lieutenant watches them head towards the camp. Carefully Lorena and Barbossa peek out one by one behind columns. Then they move forward, Barbossa's peg leg making a loud clomping sound. Peek through small trees. The Spanish Officer is sitting at a table, talking with some other soldiers. The Spaniard comes out of a tent.
"There, that one. That be the leader. Make note of his tent, because that's where- Oh wait, by God! That must be them right there!" Barbossa says pointing to the challices.
The two drop down onto their hands and knees.
Lorena began to snife smelling something funny.
"Your sword...smells...funny," she said looking at him.
"Aye. Poison love. From the innards of poisonous toads. Just a scratch, and you're a dead woman in minutes, but of course I wouldn't use it on you darling,"
"Then would you mind pointing it another way? I don't like toads,"
They both began to stand up
"What are you doing?"
"Planning an escape route. Isn't that how you two usually do it?"
"Yes. Well, sometimes we just...improvise.
Lorena's eyes appear behind the table with the Challices, she snatches the other Chalice. The Spanish Officer turns around and sees it's gone, but Barbossa's crutch takes away the other. He looks under the table, but there's nothing there. And he gets whacked on the back of the head by none other than Barbossa himself.
