*Life becomes more meaningful when you realize the simple fact that you'll never get the same moment twice.*

*Okay so Imma warn you now. This chapter is going to be a little gruesome so if you're not a fan of that, you may wanna skip ahead or skim read.*

When I gave my beast control the first time as a child, I was unable to remember what had happened. I'm not sure if it was because I was so young or if subconsciously I just didn't want to remember so I didn't but this time.. this time I would remember everything, this time I wanted to remember. I wanted to experience the bloodshed and rage. I wanted to experience the power that over took me body and soul.

My teeth sunk into the leaches neck, my fangs quickly piercing the main artery, blood gushing out and flowing into my mouth. I moaned at the flavor.

I was a vaguely aware of him struggling underneath me, some how I had managed to flip us around to where I was straddling his lap. One set of claws dug into his side while the other had ahold of his hair keeping his neck tilted just right to increase the flood flow.

Without even looking, I knew that I was partly shifted. From my claws to my shoulders were dark as night, sharp scales protruding from my now leather like skin to warn off attackers from touching me. My eyesight was ten times sharpers signaling their change into swirling pits of darkness laced with blood red.

His own claws racked across my back, causing me to hiss in pain and sink my teeth deeper into his jugular. Pain was a fleeting thing to me though, the reward of the mans death under me was much more important. All I could think about was draining him completely and I would have if it wasn't for this companion I had forgotten about.

Ripped from his neck, I flew across the room and slammed into the wall. Sheetrock crumbling from my impact, I snarled as blood dripped from my mouth. I was more animal than human at the moment and I could smell the fear in the air. It drove my beast for more blood.

The other leach launched himself at me full speed, fangs fully exposed. I tried to duck the swing of his fists but he caught the side of my jaw, sending me crashing to the ground once more. Quickly recovering, I kicked his legs out from under him and grabbed his ankle, digging my nails in, I slashed his tendons making him scream out in pain.

He kicked out with his other foot and caught me in the ribs. I heard something snap. My guess was that he had broken some of my ribs but I couldn't let the pain stop me from my revenge. One look at Emma still lying on the bed spurred me into motion. Snarling, I crouched low and launched myself onto him. Claws sinking into his chest, I started to dig. Blood and bits of flesh flew across the room.

Soon enough his screams turned into gurgles and he stopped breathing.

To truly kill a vampire you had to either take off their head or remove their heart. Seeing as how his heart was shredded into tiny bits and prices and all over the room... I figured he was as good as dead.

I stood up from his body. My ribs screaming in protest and limped my way to the vampire unconscious next to Emma. He was still alive. I could hear his heart softly thumping. I refused to leave him here alive after what he had done. The human part in me was disgusted in what I was about to do but my beast pushed us forwards. Using his mop of hair, I lifted him up and brought his neck to my face. We need the strength. She whispered seductively in my head. I slid my eyes to Emma as I sank my fangs once again into his neck. I am doing this for her.

Tell yourself what you need to.

I let my mind drift as I drained him. I could hear and feel my ribs snapping back in place but I ignored the pain. I was a vampire. I was also a wolf. I healed fast because of my wolf side but drinking blood sped up the process due to my vampire side. I've known what I am since the first time I met my beast. I remember the Alpha and Luna talking about it. Trying to decided what to do with me. Ultimately they decided to keep it a secret from the pack and let me live as long as I never released my beast again. They knew if they told the rest of the pack what I was there would be an outrage.

I was given one purpose. Emma. My Emma. They would keep my secret as long as I protected her and kept her out of harms way. I guess thats out of the question now though. I needed to get her to the pack doctor. She had lost way to much blood.

With one last tug from my lips, I released the man in my hold and watched as he dropped to the floor in a heap. Leaning down, I plunged my hand into his chest and grabbed ahold of his heart. Surprisingly, his body jerked and his eyes flew open even though most of the blood from his body was gone. He tried to speak but I that came out was groan of pain.

Without remorse, I ripped it from his chest and his eyes glossed over. Unlike in the movies, vampire didn't wither way nor did they turn to dust. They decomposed like any other being.

Noise from the doorway drew my attention and I looked up to see a man standing there. I instinctively snarl and tense up assuming it was another vampire, but I was wrong. It was the mystery man from the mall.

He stood there with eyes much like mine. He was also covered in blood, not as much as me but his hands dripped the sticky substance. He didn't speak as he assessed the room. His eyes lingering too long on Emma for my liking.

Taking a step in front of her, I showed him my teeth. Daring him to try me and my beast. He simply nodded. "Are they all dead?" His voice was husky and deep sending shivers down my spine.

"Yes." My own voice was a mix of mine and my beasts.

"Their hearts removed?" I growled again. I knew how to kill a vampire.

"Yes." I said snarled.

"Good. Get her out of here. I will clean up." He simply stated.

I was shocked. He didn't look disgusted with my bloody appearance or the rooms for that matter. Not in the least bit fazed. I didn't have the luxury of taking the time to play hundred questions with him though so I carefully picked up Emma bridal style and started to leave.

"Take the window. There are still humans down there." Nodding, I stepped over the dead man and walked across the room to the broken window. I guess it got smashed during the tussle.

Just before I jumped out, I looked back and asked the one question that was bugging me. "Why are you helping me?"

His smile shook me deep to the core and so did his words. "Because we are the same."
