39 READS?!!! Thanks so much! <3333 Deepest apologies for the lack of updates recently...school is really busy....

The next day Uncle and Aunt went out again. In the early morning when he got up and approached the dining area he saw Uncle and Aunt discussing something.

"Which model do you think we should get?" mumbled Uncle. Luke edged closer, wanting to hear the conversation. Yeah, eavesdropping was bad, but still...

"...There's a good deal on the X-32 but the X-34 is of higher quality. " said Uncle.

"Honestly," sighed Aunt, "Is he even old enough to drive?...I don't want him crashing himself up some rock. And he's going to have to waste time racing or whatever he'd do with the landspeeder."

Luke resisted the urge to jump out from behind the wall and yell "I'm OLD ENOUGH!!!!" Yet he was bubbling with thrill...he was actually going to have a landspeeder of his own!...Uncle wasn't joking about it! They were going to buy it!

"It's a good skill." rebutted Uncle. "And besides, I promised him."

"Fine, alright...just if he gets too immersed in the hobby he may not want to help out on the farm."

"It'll be fine, you'll see." said Uncle, even though he sounded uncertain.

Soon after they left. He smiled to himself as he did his work, his gaze occasionally drifting to the window. Would Biggs come again?

The familiar skyhopper rushed past the window. Quickly, Luke leapt out of the window. When he got outside he saw Biggs, smiling and waving at him.

When Luke was about to get into the passenger seat, Biggs stopped him. "You wanna drive today?"

Luke shook his head. "Uhh...I don't know how to get to Tosche Station. Umm..and I'm not that good yet."

"I'll instruct you."

"Err..." Luke said. "Uhh..."

Biggs coaxed him into the skyhopper. It looked similar to the landspeeder controls but there were many extra buttons and gears. He gulped and started the landspeeder.

"Just go straight ahead." Luke heard Biggs' voice from behind him. Shakily, he pushed the yoke forward. The skyhopper responded with a loud jerk and the skyhopper set off at an incredible speed. Startled, he let go of the yoke and the skyhopper screehed to a stop.

"You have to be careful with skyhoppers. They can be very fast, oh, and much more dangerous." Biggs said, sounding worried. Luke steadied himself and gently nudged the yoke forward. As before, the skyhopper began speeding again.

~~~~~~
Biggs watched the scrawny kid manage the skyhopper. He was trembling as he pressed any button, or shifted the yoke to change direction. The maneuvers were jerky, inconsistent—not smooth like they were supposed to be. Biggs furrowed his brow. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to let him drive. He was inexperienced, and skyhoppers were...well....for more experienced people.
But he didn't want to let Luke down. Why did he like Luke so much?
Perhaps it was because he was the same species. Human. And male, too. Even though he was much younger than him, he was nice, and well, he liked flying. And...he was cute, too. He had this bubble of innocence and he tended to blush a lot.
Adorable.
Most of all he had this earnestness to be a pilot even though his fate was to be a farmer forever. Biggs wanted to fulfill his dream. Besides, Luke seemed pretty talented at this. He deserved to learn.
