"ro! wake the fuck up! oh my god!"

i'm awoken by brooklyn jumping on my bed, soon falling next to me as i slowly open my eyes. i groan in anger and bury my head under the duvet. "rose! seriously! i need your help!" she yells, pulling the blanket from over me. "what do you want?" i respond, sitting up and putting my glasses on. "daniel asked me out. he said it was fancy. i don't have anything fancy to wear! we need to go shopping!" brooklyn smiles, clapping. i roll my eyes, getting out of bed and walking into the kitchen. "you know how i feel about shopping with you. you take so long!" i groan, grabbing a bowl and cereal. "please, ro, please. you're my one friend and i need you to help me." brook begs, getting down on her knees as i grab milk out of the fridge. i pour the milk in the bowl, then pouring cereal. (yes, rose pours milk before cereal. get over it.)
"you can invite jaaaack." brook smirks, dragging out jacks name causing me to pause and blush. "wh-why would i invite jack?" i ask her nervously, looking at my feet. i can sense her smirk. "oh i don't know, maybe because you like him." a blush creeps onto my cheeks, but i hope she doesn't notice. "no, no i don't." i say sternly. "but okay, i'll go shopping with you." brooklyn begins jumping, hugging me as i try to eat my cereal. "oh, and one more thing." she says. i roll my eyes and nod at her, waiting for her answer. but i'm only answered with the doorbell ringing. brooklyn runs to get it, quickly opening and greeting whoever it was before closing it. she walks back into the kitchen, soon followed by jack. "what are you doing here, jack?" i ask, swallowing a mouthful of cereal. "uh brook invited me to come shopping with you two... i don't know why." he says, scratching the back of his neck. i send a quick glare to brooklyn before asking jack if he's hungry, him responding with a quiet "no, thank you." suddenly the entire apartment is silent. it's not the normal silence it is with all of us, it's uncomfortable and awkward. "so uh, i'm gonna go get ready." i say, placing my now empty bowl in the sink and running into my room, grabbing a black tee shirt (that was most likely my brothers) and a pair of ripped shorts, then running into the bathroom for a shower.

~•time skip•~

i step out of the shower with the towel around my body before changing into my clothes. walking into my bedroom, i'm greeted by jack. "uh, hey." i say as i place my pajamas in the dirty laundry basket. he nods in response, standing up and walking to me. jack scratches the back of his neck, opening his mouth to say something but closing it soon after- seeming embarrassed. i brush off the uneasy feeling in my stomach and sit at my vanity table to begin makeup. "so, uh..." jack starts, sitting on my bed as i blend foundation into my skin with a beauty blender. "i-i was wondering if... if maybe you'd want to hang out some time." i stop blending, slowly turning to jack- who's cheeks were as red as beets and was staring at his hands. my heart beats faster and my palms become sweaty, butterflies in my stomach multiplying. "jack, we hang out all the time." i laugh it off, hoping he meant as friends- but secretly hoping he meant it as something more. jack chuckles silently. "yeah, yeah i know... b-but like... you know..." he says, but saying the last part quietly under his breath so quietly so that i couldn't hear him. "sorry, what? i couldn't hear you." i say, holding my hand up to my ear. jack rolls his eyes, inhaling deeply and sighing. "like a date, ro. would you like to go on a date with me?" he says, finally mustering up courage. my jaw drops slightly, and my face becomes hot. did brooklyn put him up to this? jack studies my face, his soon falling. "i-i probably shouldn't have said anything. i'm sorry ro." he says, getting up to leave. i panic and run towards him, grabbing his arm and pulling him into a hug. "of course." i laugh into his chest as he wraps his arms around me.

oops... was that to cute for you?
