Promises [N.H]

The next day I wake up to the California sun shining in my face. I look at my alarm clock and it says 9:30, I look to my right to see an empty bed. Thank God Ashley isn't here.

I guess I spoke too soon because I hear the door open and Ashley walk in with wet hair, wearing daisy dukes and a tank top

"Do you ever wear actual clothes?" I ask her as I sit up in my bed

"Do you ever shut up?" She answers me with a question

I groan and lay back down. I pick up my phone and see that I have 2 messages

From: Niall is cooler than me

what does this kid want. oh my gosh

Good Morning love, sorry if woke you up, I just wanted to know if you and your friend Anna would like to hang out today

I decided to read the other message before I replied, knowing it was probably from Anna

From: Justin

Hey Kennedy, you probably hate me for what I did, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm sorry, I never meant to physically hurt you. I love you Ken, please forgive me.

I start to feel a tear running down my face. What makes him apologize after 2 years? This is too much too handle

To: Justin

Don't text me, you ruined my life. I hate you.

I throw my phone across the bed and get up to go to the kitchen to make some breakfast for myself. Why would he do this to me? He's the reason why I don't date. He's the reason why I don't trust anyone besides Anna.

I notice that Ashley is gone, thank God, it's Saturday so she probably wont be back until tomorrow night.

After I finish making my breakfast I go back to my bed and grab the remote. I start to watch Full House, but I'm interrupted by the ringtone of my phone "its going down I'm yelling..." I answer it without looking at the caller ID.

"hello?" I ask still kind of upset from the text from Justin

"Hey Kennedy, you didn't answer my text so I decided to call" I hear Niall's Irish accent.

"Oh sorry Niall, I just got sidetracked from another text" I say, I totally forgot to text him back.

"Are you alright? You sound a little down"

"Yea I'm fine, it's nothing really"

"Okay? But anyway I was asking if you and Anna wanted to hang with the guys and I today"

"Yea sure, Anna will probably say yes but I'll text her and ask"

"Okay, text me"

"Okay bye Niall"

"Bye Kennedy" He says as I hang up. I text Anna and ask her

To: The bestfriendddd

Hey qt, So Niall asked if we want to hang today with him and the guys. I told him you would probably say yes

She replies almost instantly

From: The bestfriendddd

Hey bae, YES I WANT TO HANG

To: The bestfriendddd

Okay HAHA, I have to tell you something REALLY important so just come over now.

From: The bestfriendddd

I'll be over in 10

I text Niall and tell him that Anna said yes. I told him my address. He said that he would pick us up at 1:30. I look at the time and see that its 10:26.

I go take the dishes from my breakfast back to the kitchen. I hear a knock at the door. I go to answer and open the door to Anna.

"Hey tampon" She says, I chuckle at the name she started calling me back in 7th grade

"Hey Anna" I say and let her come in.

She walks over and plops down on my bed.

"So what was the important thing you had to tell me" She asks

"Justin text me" I say and bite my lip

Her mouth falls open in shock. She then closes it and her green-hazel eyes turn into pure anger

"WHAT THE HECK. WHY?!" She yells while she stands up

"I don't know but he tried to apologize but I just told him to leave me alone. He even tried to tell he loved me"

"I FREAKING HATE HIM AFTER WHAT HE DID TO YOU."

"Anna calm down, I hate him too. Nothing is going to happen" I say trying to calm her down

"I surely hope so, or I'll pound his face in" She spits

"Niall is going to be here at 1:30" I tell her, changing the subject so she will calm down

"Well what time is it now?" She asks still mad about Justin texting me

I check my phone "It's 11:00"

"Okay" She sighs as she sits back on the bed.

"How's Matt?" I ask her.

Matt is Anna's boyfriend since like 6 months ago. They get into a lot of fights but they always seem to work it out. I guess that's just how they are.

"He's okay" She says

"How is you're relationship going?" I ask

"Its okay... he can just get really clingy"

I was about to say something else but I was interrupted by my ringtone "ooh girl you're shining, like a 5th avenue diamond..." I start to sing along with Anna. Then I grab my phone to read the text

From: Niall is cooler than me

Change of plans, be there in 30 minutes

I groan

"Who was it?" Anna asks

"Niall, he says he'll be here in 30 minutes" I sigh

"WHAAAATTT?! A GIRL CANT GET READY IN 30 MINUTES" Anna screams

"Really though" I sigh again

"I'll be back in 20 minutes" She says as she walks out the door

I walk over to my closet and get blue shorts, pink love tank top, and my blue toms. I go down the hall to the bathroom and take a shower. After the shower, I do my make-up first, which is just mascara and a little eyeliner.

I let my brown hair fall down into natural waves. My hair isn't that long but I still like it. I put a blue bow into my hair and go back to my room. I could've done my hair and make-up in my room but who cares.

I get dressed and look at my phone to see that its been 20 minutes. Where's Anna?

"Why is she always late" I groan

I hear a knock at the door at I don't feel like getting up. I usually keep my door unlocked even though I don't usually tell people that when they knock. But I'm just too lazy right now.

"Its open" I yell to whoever is on the other side of the door

When the door opens my jaw literally falls on the floor.
