BROOKS POV
I quickly scurried on to Biology. I found it to be my home since I was very interested in the genetics behind superpowers! It wasn't a big surprise to see how determined I was to find out the secret of edited Genomes.. I was the child of the two biggest nerds on the planet. One that made himself a hero.. And one that almost became one....
"Ms. Watts! Would you mind reading the next section in Chapter 1 aloud please?" The Bio Teacher stated.
"Uhh.. Sure!" I said flipping back 3 chapters since I was already advanced in the subject.
I began reading it aloud and started to finally realize my surroundings as everyone was paying attention to me. The girl who sat next to me earlier was in the class, as well as Peters friend, Med? That was his name I believed. I quickly finished up and went back to the end of Chapter 3.
Nothing really eventful happened in that class. We just read and read and read... Quite boring since they were only going over Biology basics.
Just when the boring class was getting worse the bell rang four times! Lunch time!
I quickly adapted to the lunch room seeing as everyone split into groups. The ones who made fun of me were over in the far corner... Probably to get away with something I thought. There was the classic cheerleading football group as well as a few kids spread out on their own. But last and importantly not least! The Nerds! That's where I belonged! If people knew I was Starks daughter I would have been dragged over with the jocks and football players against my will in a heartbeat! But like I remembered I was my own person! I slid over to the food line and grabbed some basic frozen pizza.
"Ick... I am so bringing lunch from home..." I accidentally blurted out loud.
I had a nasty habit of doing that because HARLEY usually responded at home!
I slowly walked over to the nerd group from the looks of it. They all had matching jackets and there was only 5 of them so I didn't feel that intimidated!
"Hey there.. I-I'm Brook.. Watts" I said semi-confidently.
"Hi.. How can we help you! Wait are you new! Omg your totally new here! I'm Brianna! Here let's take a pic-" Brianna got cut off still getting away with a few blurry pictures.
"Hello.. Sorry about her she just gets random outbreaks of excitement... I'm Mimi, nice to meet you!" Mimi said.
"I'm Ava Fetii! I'm a writer for the school news cast!" Ava stated.
Ok I totally take that back I really feel intimidated...
"You can sit here! It's fine! I'm Abe.. by the way!" Abe said.
"I'm Seymour!" Another boy said.
"And I'm Cindy..." The last girl said.
"Whoa so are you guys a cool Nerd club or something!" I asked..
"More like competitive smart club... I guess" Abe said.
"Sounds neat! I'm so in!" I said excitedly.
"Where's Peter at he needs to assign you?" Cindy asked.
"Peter resigned... At the end of last year after the trip to Osborne Lab, and he hasn't been able to be apart of this remember?" Mimi said she was about to continue on but a guy came over from the football table and cut her off.
"Meaning the leadership role falls in my hands!" The guy said.
"Yeah what Flash said..." Mimi said.
"Names Flash Thompson!" He said winking at me. "Your in!"
"Wow! So quick... uh ok! Th-thank you!" I said.
"No problem babe!" Flash said.
All of the other girls sighed a deep sigh while Abe laughed.
"Just ignore his weird flirts and you'll be fine..." Mimi said locking arms with me and sitting down.
"Don't sweat it!" Brianna and Ava said sitting down beside me as well.
PETERS POV
"She got into your club..." I said to Ned.
"Awesome I'm sure she is very smart then!" Ned said.
"Not that she isn't but Flash has been accepting girls for their looks lately! Not that these girls aren't smart it's just they don't have the quick thinking to be in competition!" I said concerned.
"Geez, Peter if your so concerned then just rejoin! You just left so I'm sure you can get your posit-" Ned said before getting cut off.
"I'm not going back Ned... I don't have the time anymore!" I said.
"What even happened..? I mean you just disappeared out of nowhere.." Ned asked.
"I've... Got a lot of family stuff going on..." I said.
"Oh... Sorry to make you bring that up......" Ned said.
"It's fine! Fine!" I said quickly.
"Hey look it's just the thing you need to get us out of this conversation! The cute girl from this morning~" Ned said.
"I never said she was cute?" I said.
"I know.. But I did!" Ned said giving himself a high-five.
The girl got closer and closer as she came to our table. She stood at the end of the table and we both looked up to her.
"Hey Peter and Med! Right?" She asked.
"It's actually Ned... But whatever you wanna call me!" Ned said.
I kicked him from under the table.
"Yeah I'm Peter from this morning.. I never did get your name though....?" I said shyly towards the end.
"Oh it's Brook! Brook Watts..." Brook said giving me that dorky smile again.
"Well thanks for helping me out this morning Peter... I'm sorry you felt obligated to catch me fall..." Brook said.
"Why are you sorry?" I said with a chuckle..
"Oh... guess I shouldn't be sorry.. that was your doing...." Brook said shocked.
"So where are you from Brook?" Ned asked.
"I'm from Manhattan... I moved to Brooklyn on the closer side to Queens 4 years ago due to......." She paused.
"Due to what?" I asked.
"Family issues.... I guess" Brook replied slowly.
