Obsidian and Pyro woke to the sound of screaming. It was almost dark out but Pax Prime was ridden with fire. There were armored dragons patrolling the streets, bursting into houses—obviously looking for someone or something—clearing out the dragons within, then setting the building ablaze.

"Obsidian?" Pyro called.

"Yeah, what do you think is going on?" Obsidian said. Half wanting to run to avoid being discovered, the other half waiting to attack when the guard bursts in.

"I think Kraken got out or was found and sent spies to find us. Apparently we were stopped and these dragons were sent to either capture or kill us." Pyro stated matter-of-factly.

"I think so too. Should we run?" Obsidian asked.

"Yes." Just as Pyro answered their guard burst in. He had a look of surprise on his face when he found what he was looking for. Right as he was about to call for backup both dragons—Obsidian and Pyro—engaged. Pyro slammed the guard into the wall, and Obsidian impaled the guard on her sharp and astoundingly poisonous tail. Then Pyro shot a burst of fire at the guard and he collapsed with a burn on his side and poison coursing through him. He would be dead in less than a minute. Obsidian ran and grabbed the harness and set it on her back, then Pyro broke the skylight and both dragons flew through.

"Phew, that was close." Pyro said.

"I wouldn't be so sure." Obsidian said. Pyro wheeled around just in time to stop the first guard. The second went for Obsidian and she dove, the guard just missed and Obsidian pulled out of the dive and shot through the air. She fully extended her wings letting her fly at full speed with Pyro in her draft. Little did they know there was another Diamond Ridge-back above. The ridge-back dove and clipped Obsidian's wing causing her to take a crash landing, luckily the eggs went unharmed. Pyro shot down, with the extra speed he needed from drafting Obsidian, and collided with the dragon below him. He spiraled down clawing the dragon's wings so that he could not flee. They crashed into the hearth with a sickening lurch. Pyro checked to see if the dragon was alive. He was but not going to be for long, for the fall mangled his wings and talons to the point that there would be no point in living anymore. Therefore, Pyro decided to put him out of his misery and snapped his neck with a sickeningly loud crack.

"Are you okay?" Pyro shouted to Obsidian.

"Yeah, I'll live. My wing has a tear in it but it is not large, it will heal as long as we stay grounded for a while." Obsidian stated.

"Okay, let's take shelter." Pyro said. Obsidian followed Pyro into a cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Obsidian hid the eggs in a cove of rock and settled in with them. Pyro kept watch just inside the mouth of the cave.
