Pyro and Obsidian kept switching jobs, keeping the eggs warm and keeping watch, for the next few days while Obsidian's wing healed. Three days after the attack, Obsidian was able to fly again. The problem was, she couldn't carry the eggs, it was too much weight on a still-injured wing. So, Pyro saddled the eggs in the harness and they left the cave.

About midway through the night when the three moons were at their highest, Obsidian found a problem. Far behind them, almost invisible on the night's horizon, an Impossible Nightmare. The dragon of impossibility, as the name suggests, with the largest wings capable of flying four times as fast as a Diamond Ridge-back, and twice the size. Scales the color of the night sky equipped with a white-blue fire that blackens anything the flames unfortunately touch. This dragon, completely capable of catching them, was deliberately flying behind Obsidian and Pyro. The Nightmare was being noncombatant, odd for the species which specialized in assassinations and acts of war.

"Pyro." Obsidian said. "Look behind you, but don't change your speed." Pyro, of course, did as he was told and he spotted the dragon almost instantaneously.

"What do you want to do?" Pyro asked.

"Wait, keep an ear out, and be ready to defend yourself and the eggs." Obsidian replied. The two dragons flew until they were forced to land by daylight. They chose a cliff-side cave and dove in while they had a chance. Pyro hid the eggs, then he and Obsidian got ready to fight.
