Hugh Apiston is a pretty normal person, other than the fact that he has bees living in his stomach.
He was a peculiar, so he got put into a loop. A loop for all kinds of peculiars. He belonged there and felt at home.
Miss Peregrine often times let him leave for a bit to let his bees pollinate a field of flowers. That's where Hugh met Fiona, sleeping among them.
Fiona was peculiar, too. She was able to make a tree grow just with a snap of the finger. But because of her peculiarity, she got chased out of her village being called a witch.
As Hugh watched her sleep, she woke up and looked at him wide eyed. She started to back away quickly.
"No, no, please!" begged Hugh. "It's okay. I won't hurt you, I promise."
Fiona stared at him. Hugh however, smiled and stretched out a hand. "Are you okay?" he asks.
Fiona slowly outstretches her arm, taking Hugh's hand and allowing him to pull her off the ground. She backed away.
Hugh stared at her. She was a beauty. She had the beautifulest skin, and biggest brown eyes. "What's your name?" he asked.
Fiona hesitates. "I'm..." she says slowly. "Fiona..Frauenfeld.."
"That's a pretty name." says Hugh. "Oh, and my name is Hugh Apiston. Why are you sleeping in the flowers, Fiona?"
Fiona stares at him, then looks away.
"Nowhere to stay?" he asks.
Fiona smiles and shrugs.
"If I show you something, will you tell me?" he asks.
Fiona watches him and he opens his mouth and bees fly out. Fiona jumps back a bit.
"Oh, I'm sorry, did I scare you?" he says.
Fiona smiles. She takes Hugh's hand and leads him to an empty spot in the field of flowers. "Watch." she whispers. She kneels down and begins to fill the empty spot with golden flowers.
"You're different, too?!" Hugh exclaims.
Fiona shakes her head.
"Come with me." Hugh says.
