So I came up with this funny, fluffy oneshot idea. However, the idea was far too long for one oneshot and if I tried to shorten it down, it wouldn't be as good. So I'm splitting it into four parts. But I hope you enjoy the first part.

Your POV

1979.

I stood behind the stage, waiting to go on. This was the day, my time to shine. I was going to go up on stage to sing in front of the whole school and everyone's parents.

I looked behind the curtain, looking at the rows of seats filled with everyone's parents in. I got extremely excited and nervous, I hadn't really performed in front of anyone before.

I started to look for my parents, but I couldn't see them anywhere. I started to get worried, what if they didn't show up?

I closed the curtains and walked over to a prop box and sat on it. I sighed gently as I swung my legs back and forwards, then I saw a kind of cute boy walk in and look through the curtains.

He said to himself, "Sweet! My parents are here!"

He gave them a quick wave, I started to look at my shoes since he seemed so happy that his parents were there. But mine hadn't shown up yet.

The boy turned around and asked me in a confident voice, "Where's your parents?"

I mumbled, "They're not here yet."

He shrugged and just looked back at the audience. He commented, "Look at all these people, they're all here to hear me sing."

I was a bit confused and annoyed by what he said, not everyone was there to hear him sing. I quickly said, "Well, not everyone. Everyone's parents are here to see their kids perform."

The boy smugly said, "So? They're here to see me because I'm the best singer and I'm gonna win!"

I mumbled, "That's not very nice, there's other good singers."

He said sarcastically, "Like who?"

I couldn't believe what he was saying, he was awfully rude and clearly a massive show off. My dad always said to stay away from show offs, because they only cared about themselves.

I jumped off the prop box and quickly looked through the curtain, I saw my dad walk in and sit on a chair near the middle.

I immediately smiled and waved at him. But I then realised that I couldn't see mum anywhere, she wasn't with dad.

The boy asked me, "Where's your mum?"

I whispered, "I don't know, she's supposed to be here. She promised she'd come this time."

The boy then cockily said, "Well, at least my parents are here."

I immediately felt extremely sad when he said that, I felt tears threatening to come out so I ran off and then started to cry.

I said to myself, "Stupid, stupid! What's his problem?!"

I ran over to my teacher, Mrs Coven and exclaimed, "Mrs! This boy was saying mean stuff to me!"
