You look at me, as if im gold
You say im so soft and sweet
You spoil me with kindness
You give me all your love
You say you can't live without me
You say if I hurt you, you would die
I see the fear in your eyes
At the slightest hint of aggression
I look at my callused, beaten hands
I look back on the damage...
The damage I have closed
I look back on my inner fire
I look at my hands
Hands you once compared to gold and silk
I try to cool the fire in my veins
Im worried
They say nothing gold can stay...
Will I just fade away?
Will I burn our city of gold to to the ground?
Will I be the reason you turn to ash under my fingers?
From ashes we came and to ashes we shall return
But from the ashes I shall rise again
Reborn from my mistakes
Surrounded by the crumbled pieces
Of our city of gold.
Please cool the fires raging in my veins
Help me Build up our walls, stronger and stronger
Maybe this time we can survive this fire
Maybe we can make it out alive
Maybe our gold can stay
( the original nothing gold can stay Idea is not mine it is robert frost's, I have a personal connection to it that's why I used it )
