Chapter 38
"What the fuck." I said in shock, looking out of the window as the car sped down the high way.
"I told you." Elizabeth sighed, resting her legs up across my lap.
Tommy laughed in the front seat, glancing back at us.
The girl in the passenger seat didn't say anything and I still wasn't sure who she was.
"Yeah you said it might be cold, not that there would be snow." I shook my head.
"You've never seen snow before?" Tommy asked in shock, glancing over his shoulder again.
"Focus on the road." Elizabeth snapped, shoving his shoulder.
"Well don't distract me." Tommy snapped back.
"Babe." The girl whispered, gently reaching over to touch his arm.
Elizabeth's eyes widened and she sat up slightly, watching the girl with confusion.
"Yes, I have seen snow before. I just didn't expect to see it today." I said to Tommy, resting my hand on Elizabeth's thigh.
Tommy tensed but didn't pull his hand away from the girl.
I couldn't even remember what her name was...
I shifted slightly to pull my phone out of my pocket and quickly texted Elizabeth.
*Who even is this chick??*
Elizabeth, who had been constantly on her phone the entire drive, instantly replied.
*Hell if I know?? I've literally never seen her before in my life :/*
I glanced up at Elizabeth and she just shook her head.
"So you guys ready for States?" Tommy asked, glancing over at us again.
"Eyes on the road, dipshit." Elizabeth laughed.
"Yo, fuck off and mind your own business." Tommy shot back with a grin, completely turning around to face her.
"You're gonna kill us all!" Elizabeth laughed, shoving his shoulder.
"Hey, don't push him." The girl frowned, turning around to glare at Elizabeth. "Don't engage." She whispered quietly to Tommy.
Elizabeth's eyes widened and she looked at me in shock.
Tommy grimaced as his grip on the wheel tensed but he didn't say anything.
There were noticeable differences between them that hadn't been evident the first time I saw the two of them together.
Maybe it's that I've gotten so close with Elizabeth now, but I used to think they were basically the same person.
Especially now since Tommy is in the middle of winter on the East Coast and Elizabeth is in the middle of the desert, basically, they're almost completely different skin tones.
"What the fuck." Elizabeth whispered to me.
"Don't engage." I whispered back with an overly cheesy smile.
Elizabeth let out a laugh and grabbed my hand in hers.
"Okay so here's the plan when we get home..." Elizabeth started talking. "We're going to quickly unpack, then go for a run, then-"
"How far? I know we planned on only two but man I've been sitting all day and-"
"At least a 5k." Elizabeth said quickly. "Yeah, we need to exercise we've been sedentary for far too long."
