Chapter 5

We open the door and I am in huge shock. I know Chandler and Sam warned me she was a freak but come on. Is she really sitting on the floor in the middle of a circle made of burning candles, praying or something?

Just kill me now.

I slam my hand on the light switch and my foot on the floor.

Her head lifts slowly and her arms go down. Her eyes rapidly open. They are a dark, dark brown. Almost black.

Cat: Chandler... Sam... Girl...

Me: I'm jess. Your new roommate.

Cat: I'm cat, your worst night mare.

Me: Listen Cat as long as we don't talk and don't mess with each others shit, we can live in the same room with no problems, got it?

She nods and begins to move all her crap to the back side of the room. I obviously get the side of the room with the bathroom and the window and the mini fridge.

Chandler has detention today so he leaves. Sam helps we unpack my stuff and he puts it all into the dresser for me.

I take care of my bras and underwear and lady items. I re-arrange my side of the room and now it looks really nice and cute while the other half is a mess.

Cat leaves to go who knows where. Me and Sam are finally alone again after so many years.

*Sam's POV*

Jess is so beautiful. I still remember the way she looked the day I left. White ripped jean shorts, a flower top, curled hair, sandals and light make up.

This is my chance to ask her out I mean we are alone. I'm just afraid it will ruin our friendship.

Jess: Sam?

Me: Yeah?

Jess: Wanna watch a movie?

Me: Kay. What movie?

Jess: The Purge?

Me: Oh my god yes!

She puts in the movie and turns off the lights and closes the blinds since it's only 3 PM.

I pat my hand on a spot next to me on the bed. She sits down as the movie starts.

*Jess' POV*

Halfway through the movie my back aches so I lay down instead of sitting up against the wall. Sam does the same. As he slides down he slips his arm around me and scoots closer to me. I feel heat in my checks. Hopefully it doesn't show.

Just as the movie ends we are both hungry. I suggest going to the cafeteria. On our way there we pass Cat.

I kinda gave her a bit of a death stare but as long as she leave my shit alone I'm fine.

Sam laces his fingers with mine. What is he doing? I thought we were like brother and sister! Do I really like him? What would Chandler think of us? Would he hate me and Sam?

No.

I can't like Sam. We grew up together.

I unlace my fingers from his and put my hand into my pocket.

He looks embarrassed.
