being born into a small town is good for a child. no stressful school crowds or hectic traffic or sightings of a drugged up b-list celebrity. the town the josephs lived in seemed like a perfect place to raise a family. it was a quiet, peaceful place.

and then tyler was born.

not that there was anything wrong with tyler, of course - he just thought differently than other kids. he had a different outlook on life and often spoke about it. most people thought tyler was just a hormonal teen and that he would grow out of his "weird" phase.

but he never did.

in fact, he only worsened with time.

it only boiled over when the local police department received a phone call. the officer on duty, hayley williams, was filing paperwork when they got it. she sighed and stretched, taking her time to answer. it was two in the morning, for god's sake.

"it's probably another prank call," she muttered to no one in particular. "damn kids." she tossed her hair over her shoulder, picked up the line, and put on the most fake happy voice she could: "sherrif's department, officer williams speaking."

"h-hello...?"

officer williams furrowed her brow. "hi there. is everything alright?"

"no ma'am...i don't know what to d-do...i think i'm gonna be sick..."

"hey, no, just relax, okay? everything is gonna be okay, i promise you."

there was heavy breathing on the other line as the boy tried to control himself.

"what is your name, honey?" officer williams asked softly.

"t-tyler...tyler joseph. please help me. i think my parents are dead..."
