That Night

"Time doesnt guarantee forever. Falling in love also means falling apart."

Scattered fragments of frames, pillows banged against the wall, clothes found on the floor, screams and sobs heard outside their home.
As the strong wind eloped with the crushing sound of thunders, they are merged as one with Marydale's crushing heart.

Marydale's marriage with Edward was on the verge of losing its ends. The love they once had, fueled with the promise of forever is slowly losing its essence. Marydale knows that she did everything she could do to save their marriage, to make Edward realize that she's all that he needs. But, he knows he doesnt want her anymore. He felt the need to escape.
Marydale pleaded on her knees, her heart was full of anger but she knows he love him more than she could love anyone and losing him would mean losing herself, completely. She started doubting herself, where did she go wrong? Wasn't she enough to make him stay?

"EDWARD! I love you, please don't leave me. I thought you love me. You promised me Edward that you would never leave me. What happened to your wedding vows, Edward? What happened to our love?" Maymay bursted out in tears. Her petite body wasn't enough to handle all the pain that her fragile heart is going through.

"Answer me, Edward. Am I not enough? Are you tired? What do you want me to do Edward just for you to stay? Tell me, Edward. I'm willing to give up everything just for us."

Marydale cant help but to break down in tears. He loves her more than she loved herself. She gave up everything she wanted - her dreams and her career.

But Edward was stern on his choices. His decision is final and Marydale cant make him stay anymore.

"Edward, I gave up everything for you. Remember when you said that you'll love me forever and that you would never hurt me. Where did these promises go, Edward? Did you forget about them?" She said in between her sobs. Marydale felt that any time from now, she's going to lose a grip of herself.

She pushed Edward against the wall and pressed her lips against his. Started to unbotton his polo. Aggressiveness and longingness was seen in Maymay's eyes. The only man he loves this much is going to leave her for good.

"Is this what you want Edward? PLEASE ANSWER ME EDWARD!, please..." She started attacking his lips and devoured his mouth.

But Edward, started to resist.
Edward pushed her away, he felt sorry for what he's about to do but he knows that he can't stay any longer.

"Maymay, please stop. Stop making a fool of yourself. You can strip down your clothes in front of me but still, it's not enough reason to make me stay." Edward said with a drop of tear on his cheek.

"Maymay, you were once the girl I ever dreamed of. When I promised you that I would never hurt you, believe me, I did and I tried. But some things are beyond our control. That's why I'm leaving Maymay, I dont want to see you hurting anymore because of a promise that I once said."

"All the memories we shared will always have a special spot in my heart. The vows I said on our marriage day, they were all true and sincere, Maymay but feelings can change, May. And as much as I dont want to say this, I'm loving you less everyday, Maymay."

Marydale was left dumbfounded by what Edward said. She knows that she did everything to be a good wife to Edward but she also knows that she can never give Edward what he needs.

"I'm sorry, Edward if I cant give you what you need. I'm sorry if all I can ever be is a wife and not a mother of our child. God knows how hard I pray every night to grant us a child, Edward."

Marydale exploded in tears. She tried to fake a smile but she started blaming herself. She's a failure and she'll never be good to anyone.

"Maymay, it's not all about you not capable of having a child. The more that I stay, the more I'm giving you reasons to break your heart. I'm not happy anymore, Maymay."
"I...I just fell out of love. That's all".
Edward said as he covered his face with his hands. Trace of embarrassment was evident on his stares. How could he fall out of love with the woman he once loved so much? How could he hurt the woman he promised to take care of for the rest of his' life.

"May, you deserve someone better. Someone who can give you all the love you deserve without requisitions. And it's not me, May. Please start learning to live without me, May. I cant longer reciprocate the love you've given me. My heart's too full of your love that I wanted to free myself."

"I'm leaving now, Maymay. Please fix yourself. I dont deserve you, not even your tears."

Marydale crouching on the floor, ran out of words to say. Crying was her only escape. She started to grow weak, her heart tormented into pieces. She wanted to stop Edward from leaving. But, it was too late, he already left and he's never coming back.

After that night, all that Marydale remembered was how Edward said these words, "I...I just fell out of love."
