The next few weeks were awfully rough for me. I spent all my time in bed, crying, and sending Liam roses, hoping he would finally come back to me—he didn't.

"That's it," Niall announced one day. "I'm going over to Liam's house myself."

"No, Niall," I cried. "He'll give you an even worse treatment than he gave me!"

"I don't care, Zayn. I hate seeing you like this."

"Fine, Niall, I won't stop you. But please, please don't push anything on him. I don't want him to get angry and do something bad to you."

Niall put his hand on my shoulder and gave me a reassuring smile. "I promise, Zayn. Now can I go?"

"Yeah, I guess so. Good luck."

"Thanks, bye."

Butterflies began to erupt in my stomach as I watched Niall walk out the door. I was more concerned about something happening to Niall rather than Liam never taking me back again.

Just as I picked up my phone, it began to ring. The caller ID read Louis' name, so I answered it. I felt bad about Louis, though; Ever since Niall moved in with me, I had been neglecting him. I had actually ignored him for the first week Niall moved in, being I didn't want him to find out and get mad at me. But he called, and I picked up because I didn't want him thinking I was angry with him. Eventually, he found out that Niall was staying with me because he heard Niall calling me from the other room. He was a bit pissed at first, but he let it go by saying, "You know what? It's your life, not mine. You're allowed to make your own decisions. But I'm just warning you that something bad might happen as a result of this."

"Hey, mate. How are you feeling?" He asked once I picked up the phone.

"Horrible, still. And now I even feel terrified," I admitted.

"What? Why?"

"Because Niall is going to Liam's house."

"He's what?" Louis asked shocked.

"Yeah, he went to ask Liam to take me back."

"Why? Did you ask him to do that?"

"No, he said that he was going there because he hated seeing me upset and all. I hope he'll be okay, and that nothing bad happens to him. If anything were to happen to him, I would never be able to forgive myself."

"Well, do you really think Liam would do something like that to him?" Louis asked in disbelief.

"I don't know, Louis. And frankly, I don't care. All I care about is Niall."

"Zayn?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you sure," Louis sighed hesitantly before continuing. "Are you sure you love Liam and not Niall?"

"Wh-what?"

Louis sighed again. "I'm not doubting your love for Liam or anything, but I'm just saying. I mean, it seems to me like you have feelings for Niall, not Liam."

I thought about what he just said, and I actually considered it for a moment. Maybe Liam never was "the one." Maybe Liam was just someone I used until I actually found "the one." Maybe Niall was "the one" all along.

"Zayn?" Louis asked, taking me out of my thoughts.

"Yes?"

"You're not upset that I asked you that, right? I'm sorry if you are."

"No, no, I was just thinking about what you said."

"And?"

"And I think I might love Niall."
