"wow, ruby your house is beautiful." I say walking from the living room into the kitchen where there stood a ruby pouring two glasses of red wine.
she smiles at the corner of her mouth and hands me one of the glasses, I smile at her and she walks to the bookshelf across the fireplace in her living room that held a record player she pulled it up and laid it slightly against the record moving around and around.
my favorite song played, the song is called Silent Movies by Peter and the Wolf.
my eyes widened as I watched her walk back as the smooth groove started and the soft song sang in the back of her.
we both sat at her kitchen table. sipping wine and making conversation,
"so Meredith , lets say you do get involved in this university. what are you planning on studying?"
"well, I think I would like to major in English. I love to write."
"I would like to read some of work sometime."
"oh definitely not." I chuckle sipping on some wine
"why?"
"well, because ruby."
"because why?"
"because its only things like short stories and poems sometimes." I say embarrassed
"what, you think I don't enjoy a nice poem?" she grins
"no its not that."
"then?"
"no ones ever read my work before." I tuck a piece of hair behind my ear
"I would love to be your first." she grabs my hand and interlocks her fingers with mine and makes eye contact so intense you'd have to be blind to break.
