as we sat their and talked about random subjects, books and school and basically our lives I noticed something about ruby.
she wasnt nearly as harsh and badass as I thought, not in a bad way.
what I mean is she's kind of gentle, and her soul is so open and free and just full of wisdom. but from her outside with the tattoo and the haircut and the way she carries herself you just wouldn't figure from a woman with that kind of appearance if that makes sense.
we sipped apple juice and we made healthy banana pancakes with a recipe online she found, and we just laughed and ate.
as we were sitting at the table and our conversation had come to an almost awkwardly long pause I blurt ,
"whats her name?"
ruby looks up at me from her pancakes and swipes a fake grin across her mouth,
"her name is Elizabeth." she smiles fully and grabs her plate to take to the kitchen
"what was she like ruby?" I stand up and follow her too the kitchen
"she was, beautiful, and kind, she always had a way to make me smile and feel positive."
"wow." I gaze up at her like a kid at a candy shop just listening to the way she speaks about her once true love.
"you know she's not dead right?" ruby smiles and starts to wash off her plate
"well it almost sounds like the part you love about her is."
ruby turns the water off and looks at me,
"exactly Meredith."
"I understand now." I smile at her starting too tear up.
although it had been a short conversation, and not to bring up her past completely I just needed too hear how ruby still interprets Elizabeth. that way I can see if there is something there that I could be interfering with. but the way she talked about her, like she was dead.
I reached down to ruby from where I was sitting on the counter and I hugged her and as I pulled away to see a tear stroke down her face I swiped it with my thumb and slowly leaned in to kiss her. and as I did she did also, we kissed and I wrapped my legs around her torso and she started to kiss my neck and trail kisses all the way down my stomach and we she reached my shorts she started untying the shoelace sewed into them kissing my inner thigh and looking up at me with those big hungry eyes. and then
DING DONG the doorbell rang.
