Having a professional attitude and appearance towards what you do or want to do is a catalyst for success. I cannot stress enough the importance of professionalism in business and any other career path that requires you to interact with other people, either directly or indirectly. There have been so many occasions in my life where I have had to let people know they are unprofessional and that I therefore won't be working with them.
Leaving a legacy in this world means leaving the people you encounter with a lasting impression of you and your brand. For example, when I'm seeking out people to work with in the different creative areas that I'm involved in, I'll approach them via email. Many of these people haven't sent me a response to this day. It takes nothing to reply to someone that is interested in you or your craft, whether it's to say you're not interested or just want to wish someone the best and network.
Things like this demotivate some people, but the best way to deal with such circumstances is to remain professional and keep working towards your goals. I have learnt that other people's lack of professionalism doesn't define yours.
