I never knew diving into the Khaos world could be so tiring, it felt different, unlike the other time I had done it.
For a long moment my vision was distorted, my head throbbed with pain and there were aches all over my body.
After a while, I was beginning to gain control and was now getting used to the atmosphere around me.
My eyes opened wide and I gasped in shock, I rose up in a rush and l began to look around. I scanned the room trying to observe where I was. It was some sort of medieval looking building and I was in a rocky room about four floors high.
The room had a wooden bench and a table, a door that led to a room with a round hole in the ground (probably some sort of toilet) and a bed with a mattress.
On the floor around me were familiar figures, it was Retrix, Geminade, Kyropractor, Low Velocity and Eric Shade.
They laid unconscious on the floor, I assumed that they were still uploading their sub-conscious into the game.
From a wooden window behind me I overheard human voices, I walked over and gently opened the window.
I peeked out the window and saw two khaos players dressed in a similar red and gold outfit, standing on the roof of a shorter building just across the one we were in.
They seemed to be watching my room closely, as if they were waiting for someone to make an appereance.
"This is bad," I whispered to myself as I remembered the bounty Tyrack had placed on my head.
They had long silver swords but didn't look that intimidating.
I was sure I could easily finish them off, but I feared they would alert others and draw attention to me.
I heard a bunch of groans so I turned around I haste, the others had begun to wake up.
I had to keep them unnoticed from the players outside, Retrix rose slowly and saw me rushing towards them.
"Ivan what's wro-"
"Shh," I pleaded while holding his mouth with my right hand.
There was a long moment of silence then he removed my hands from his mouth.
Geminade crept towards us a d held my shoulder.
"Anyone care to explain what's going on?" She whispered.
Eventually the others gathered around me and I told them to duck silently to the ground.
"There are two khaos players waiting for us outside," I explained.
"So let's take em out then," Kyropractor suggested.
"No wait, before we do anything-" I stalled for a moment and looked at all their faces.
"For us to be able to work as a team, we need to have a certain level of trust."
They starred at me blankly, as if I was speaking a different language.
I sighed, "okay I'll go first, my name is Ivan Tresh, as some of you may already know, I am the Dark Syndicate."
Retrix looked at me in disbelief, he looked shocked that I actually announced my identity openly.
I nudged his shoulder, alerting him to go next.
"Right um, my name is Retrix Alderson, nice to meet you guys," He said as be nudged Geminade to go next.
"Really?" Geminade complained.
"Yes really," Retrix and I answered in synchrony.
"Fine, I'm Olivia Taylor and you better not say it to anyone else," she said bitterly.
