Arya was chilling on her sofa with her laptop on her stomach when her phone buzzed. She lazily swung her arm out to grab it from its place on the coffee table, but much to her annoyance, she couldn't reach it. What idiot moved the table away from the couch? She though irritably. She closed her laptop and put it to the side so she could reach her phone easier, but it was still too far away. Being the lazy person that she was, Arya continued trying to get the phone without having to get up. She was stretched out rather precariously with only her lower legs still resting on the sofa when Katie burst into the room.
"Agh, motherfucker!" Arya yelped as her face collided with the floor.
"Mornin' sis." Katie chirped.
Arya groaned and slid her legs off the sofa. She crawled over to the coffee table and unenthusiastically picked her phone up off the table and unlocked it. She immediately brightened up when she saw that she had a text from Dan.
"Just got back to London, woo! I can't wait to see you tomorrow. Dan x"
Her smile froze as she tried to figure out what he meant by "see you tomorrow".
"Katie, what's the date today?" She called out.
"Uhh, new year's eve eve."
Arya's eyes widened. "Shit, the party's tomorrow and I still don't have a dress. What am I gonna do?" She scrambled up from her sitting position and ran into her bedroom.
Katie strolled after her, curious about this new found social life that her sister seemed to have aquired. "Wait, you're going to a party? How come I didn't know about this?"
"I dunno. I kinda forgot." Arya let out an exacerbated groan and she rifled through all of her clothes.
"You don't have any dresses." Katie stated pointedly. "Well not any decent ones anyway. I already checked." She leaned on the door frame and grinned at Arya.
Arya knew that grin, and it could only mean one thing. She would have to spend hours traipsing around the shops in London with Katie until they found a party dress that they both approved of. To be honest Arya didn't really mind, especially since she wanted to look irresistible for the party, but the idea that she couldn't just order one off the internet made her groan inwardly.
After literally an entire day of visiting different shops and arguing over clothes, they finally found the dress.
It was a short, black, figure-hugging dress with long sleeves, and it fitted her slender figure perfectly. It was made from a sort of glitter fabric that sparkled in the light (but the little bits of glitter that kept rubbing off and sticking to everything else were a bit annoying), and it had a boat neckline that continued into a deep V down her back. Arya was a little concerned about that part, but Katie assured her that she looked like a 'sexual supernova'.

Arya fidgeted with her dress as she stood in front on Dan and Phil's apartment door. She could feel her heart thumping rapidly in her chest and she couldn't stop messing with little details, like pulling on the hem of her dress. She couldn't understand why she was so nervous. She'd been on plenty of dates before, but none of them had ever made her so anxious. She shrugged off her coat and was about to knock on the door when it swung open to reveal a rather dapper looking Phil.
Phil barely recognised the woman standing in front of him. "Arya?" He said in disbelief. "Wow, you look amazing!"
She blushed and looked at her feet. "Thank you."
"You must be freezing, come in!" Phil ushered her inside the apartment.
Arya was glad for the warmth radiating through the apartment. She placed her coat and her bag next to the door and wandered into the middle of the room, her black heels clacking against the hardwood floor.
