Now he was less than a centimetre away.
Your eyes, like his, travelled from his eyes to his lips. Your heart continued to thud as for hours, it seemed, Yugyeom came ever closer and closer. Just as you were sure his lips would touch yours, you closed your eyes tightly, anticipating the kiss.
That's when his mischievous maknae laugh rang throughout the room and your eyes shot open, stunned. In his hand, he had the basin which you had pulled behind you earlier.
Not only embarrasment, but devastation coursed through your veins as you realised, he wasn't leaning closer to kiss you... He was leaning closer in order to reach the basin which you had hidden behind you.
You know you shouldn't be, but you're let down. Why did you think he was going to kiss you?
Why did you want him to?
Realising how you must look to him, your lips parted and your eyes wide with shock, you moved forward into a sitting position, making yourself comfortable as though you hadn't just readied yourself for a kiss that was never going to happen.
"What's up?" Yugyeom asked, finally finishing with his laugh of victory and staring at you, trying to figure out your current emotion. Deciding that it would be best if he didn't figure out what it was exactly that you were feeling, you grinned at him reassuringly.
"Nothing, I'm fine." Yugyeom only glanced at you for a moment longer, deciphering whether or not you were being honest with your response. Seemingly satisfied with your response, he too grinned, dunking a sponge into the basin again.
"No," you warned, scooting further away from him, holding your hands up, readying to block any water that you suspected would soon come your way.
He smirked, holding it for a moment before it cracked and a grin broke through the mischievous facade. "I won't, don't worry." He reassured, his eyes growing smaller as his smile grew bigger. He placed the basin beside hisself and leaned against the still wet but freshly clean love seat.
You too leaned against it, yawning due to the tiresome night's events.
"Was that fun or was that fun?" He asked, a yawn escaping his lips also. He looked completely innocent as he tilted his head back for the smallest yawn known by man, his hand moving to his face to rub his tired eyes as though he were a toddler that had woken up from a short lived nap.
You practically beamed at him as you watched the whole scene ensue. As a maknae, he certainly did live up to the expectations. However, although he could be insanely cute and sweet, you had seen him dance and you had watched the way his face changed as you had both stared at each other earlier on that day.
"Are you tired?" You asked him as he moved his hand from his face again.
He glanced up at you, a small smile set onto his plump lips, "you yawned first."
You smiled, shaking your head. "Good point"
The smile on Yugyeom's face remained there as he leaned his head back on the soft cushion of the love seat and his eyes fluttered closed. You stared at him for a moment, pointing out every detail of his face.
His hair fell onto his clear forehead, reaching his neatened eyebrows, shadowing them from your view. His eyes remained closed as he fell further into slumber, his eyes moving under his eyelids as though already dreaming. His eyelashes stood still, however, casting a light shadow on his cheekbones. Those cheekbones that led to his slender nose which then pointed to his soft, plump lips. They parted as he slept, letting air escape through them silently.
