"My baby is growing up so fast" My mom says hugging me tightly.
"Yeah, I know mom. Now don't go crazy and come all the way to college and give me a lecture about bad boys and stuff."
"You know I will and I'm very protective over you as you are my only child and I'll protect you no matter what, okay?"
"Okay mom, I love you so much."
"Love you too my darling, now go pack all your clothes because we'll be late."
"Okay." I say as I go upstairs and pack all my clothes, I mean everything. You don't know what to wear on some days so you need to be ready.
"Lydia, are you done packing?" My mom shouts from downstairs.
"Yes mom, I'll be down in a minute." I reply.
I take my three suitcases and put it downstairs. I run back up the stairs to look at my room one last time.
I look at my plug and I see my charger. How the hell can I forget my phone charger? I won't be able to live without my phone.
I go downstairs and I see my mom carry my bags to the car and put it into the trunk. I lock the house up and I make my way to the car and jump in the passenger seat. "Hit it." I say and my mom drives off.
Hours later my mom wakes me up. "Lydia, Lydia." My mom shakes me softly. "We're here."
I open my eyes and I look out of the window and my mouth opens, "Woah, this college is huge." I say in awe.
"I know, and I know my baby girl will make me proud."
"I will mom, I sure will." I assure my mom. "When will dad be back?" I ask.
"He's out in business in South Africa, making quite a lot of money though, I must say. He's smart, like you."
"And I'm beautiful, just like you." I say as I hug my mom.
"Thanks my darling, now let's get you settled in."
I open the trunk and take out my suitcase and roll them on the side walk where my mom is standing. "I really hope my roommate is a girl. I don't want to be with a dude." I say.
"I agree, and you should let me know who it is and if he or she is going to give you any trouble."
"Oh mom, don't be so over protective, I think protective is enough." I say as I kiss her cheek and give her one last hug.
She gets into the car and I make my way into Rosewood College. I wave goodbye and see how the car slowly fade away.
