plot: Yoo Si-jin (Song Joong-Ki) is the captain of a South Korean Special Forces Unit. He and his friend Master Sergeant Seo Dae-young are off-duty when they witness a young man, Kim Ki-bum, steal a motorcycle and apprehend him. The thief is injured during his capture and therefore sent to the hospital. Dae-young realizes his cellphone was stolen by the thief and goes to the hospital along with Si-jin to retrieve his cellphone.
In the emergency room, Si-jin meets Dr. Kang Mo-yeon (Song Hye-Kyo) for the first time, and is instantly attracted to her. Mo-yeon mistakenly assumes Si-jin is part of the thief's criminal gang, due to his nickname "Big Boss", which is actually his . He proves his identity with the help of army surgeon Yoon Myung-ju (Kim Ji-Won).
This drama details the experience of a soldier's life, as well as the struggles they face while serving their country & loved ones.

review: To start off.. I'm pretty sure EVERYONE has seen this drama.. and if not, I don't even know what to say. HOW COULD YOU NOT HAVE SEEN THIS YET??
If I took anything from this drama, it'd be the sense of loyalty that the actors/actresses portrayed for their country. I remember the goosebumps I got from watching this drama. It was scary good!!
The entire cast did a GREAT job in delivering their role to PERFECTION. There's nothing bad to say about this drama honestly. This drama showed the true meaning of brotherhood, friendships, romance, and had a lot of humor and action! What more could you ask for in a drama?
Word has it that there'll be a Descendants of the Sun 2 but with a complete change of cast. The writer had voiced that this cast had told their story & if there is going to be another season, she wants to tell another soldier's story.

p.s: If you guys didn't know.. when Park Bo-Gum was struggling in his role for Love in the Moonlight/Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, Song Joong-Ki (a good friend of his) was the one who gave him advice and helped him through his hardships.
