Breaking The Ice

Snowy Owl

After dinner I do my nighttime routine and got to bed. I pulled up the covers cause it was really cold. Although, without the necklace I don't realize it. My mom was right. I rolled over and looked out my window. It was beautiful. The snow and the moon right in the perfect spot. It was quiet and bright. Almost like a perfect picture. I started to fall asleep.

(Flap Flap) A white and grey owl was perched just outside my window. It had these bright yellow eyes, pure white and grey feathers. I got out of bed and opened the window. The owl started to fly away. I went to follow it.

With no care I jumped out of the window and flew. I soared with the beautiful snow owl. We went through many mountains and valleys and though the trees. Frosty white snow was everywhere. It was a journey you would never forget.

In the far distance I could see grey. it was dark. It was scary. All of a sudden the owl soared down and sat on a nearby branch. I kept flying and it was dark.

"Norine! Norine!" Wake up!" my mom was beside my bed waiting to give me a hug goodbye.

"I'm sorry. Just a really big dream I guess.". I got up and gave her a hug.

"Bye I will miss you!" my mom smiled and walked out of my room.

I wish she didn't have to leave... The necklace. I got out of bed got dressed and put on the necklace. I saw Nori's portal just in my window. I stepped in.

"Well I have been waiting for you!" Nori stepped over to me. "Achem... your dress... It is very important to arrive with your dress on please."

"Oh sorry...". I quickly made my dress.

"Now that's more like it" Nori grinned.

"Oh my gosh! I forgot breakfast! I made my dress disappear, ran out of the portal, took off my necklace and ran down the stairs.

"Your pancakes are cold.". my dad said.

"That's ok I was just really tired."

I took some cereal poured it into a bowl and whoofed it down.

"Don't forget to bring it to the sink!"

"Ok.". He's just dragging it out. After I put the bowl beside the sink I ran upstairs put on the necklace and stepped back into the portal.

Nori was glaring at me.

"I'm sorry now as you were saying."

"Lately I have gotten news. There is a dark force coming from the south side and it's getting closer as we speak. Remember the mission? Yeah. That's what you need to find out about. That's why this week is crucial to you and me.

"Your dress... ACHEMM!!!"

"Whoops..."
