Chapter 1: Saying Goodbye

Jennifer's Pov

Today was my last goodbye, I was gonna miss him more than anything. My boyfriend, Jake, died last week in a car accident. He was different from the rest; he knew how to make me laugh, smile without even trying. I promised myself that I will stay strong through this rough patch of my life and that I will try to keep on going with my life. So today was grieving day, I was going to look at him for the last time. I don't know If I can do this... I thought to myself.

Aunt Lucy knocked on my door and said to me in a soft voice, "Jen, wake up, I know this is hard for you but if you don't hurry up we're gonna get there late"

I've been in my room for this entire week non stop crying watching pictures of us together; it hurts so much. I know my aunt was right at some point I'll have to face the fact that Jake died, so I rolled out of bed and took a quick shower. I wore a short black dress and left my hair dry up naturally to go to the funeral. I placed my shades on, picked a purse and headed down stairs. She was already waiting for me, so I got a apple and got in the car.

"You know you have to do a speech, right?" Aunt Lucy asked me.

"Of course, I just don't know if I can read it without going down to tears" I replied.

On our way to the funeral I wondered who will be there. Jake wasn't that popular, yet he tried to help everyone. In a matter of fact, that's how we met.

Flashback to March 28, 2012

"Jennifer! Jennifer! I need you to wake up!" Was all I heard, yet I couldn't move.

I tried to move my fingers, but nothing, the voices kept screaming at me, like if I had some sort of accident. The next thing I heard were sirens and some paramedics talking to me explaining what happened. They said I fell from the roof, and I seriously don't remember how I got there in the first place.

The neighbors were in shock when they heard the loud sound of me falling, so I guess they immediately called 9-1-1.

Right after the paramedics explained to me what happened everything went black.

The next thing I knew I was in the hospital, sweating like crazy. I decided to scream sitting up in the hospital bed because I was traumatized by what just happened.

A good looking boy that was swiping the floor came quickly to me and said, "Oh my God! You can move! That's so good, the doctors thought you were brain dead. Please breath calmly and relax that everything is gonna be alright."

I looked at him with the weirdest face expression ever. And asked, "Who are you?"

He smiled and said, "I'm Jake, I work here, so you will get used to me if you stay here long."

"Aren't you a senior at Canada High School?" I asked."I think I've seen you before, but I can't figure out where."

"Yes, we go to the same school." he said sort of laughing. "Why do you laugh? It's just a simple question."

"It's just that I'm not well known at school, and it's weird that a junior as pretty and popular as you, knows who I am"

"Well I've seen you in the hallways... Just wondering if it's you for Gods sake!" I kinda screamed at him.

"Woa, woa! Look who we have here. Jennifer, you're a living miracle. You need to take it easy you just woke up from a comma and we need to figure out what happened to you" The doctor told me.

"I could hear everything, yet my body wouldn't allow me to move. I thought it was a dream that's why I woke up screaming; I thought I was paralyzed. But after everything went black I could move, like everything was normal." I explained.
