Wynter and Max hurried out the door with pieces of toast in their mouths.
Max sighed as they ran, and pulled his jacket on, and zipped it up.
Wynter was adjusting her shoes and gripped her brother's hand tightly.
"Thanks, Nii-San!" Wynter let go of his hands when her shoes were on.
Max looked over his shoulder and grinned, "No problem, c'mon or we won't be 20 minutes early!"

Wynter and Max sat in their seats, both sharif a book.
Max was reading the book over Wynter's shoulder, and Wynter was holding the book.
"Aw man, the books over." Max stretched his arms and cracked his neck.
Wynter sighed, "O-Of course t-the b-best f-friend d-died." She shrugged, "I-It's r-really c-cliche."
"What book next?" Max yawned, rubbing his eyes.
Wynter placed a finger on her chin, "I was thinking Science Fiction."
"Fine with me." Max said, laying his head ontop of his hands.
Wynter stretched and placed the book in her bag.
The book was titled My Best Friend's Lie
It was about a girl who had a best friend, basically. And the best friend lied about something really big, and ended up killing them self.
Pretty cliche.
Max stood up, "How 'bout I rush over to the library and pic up a book?"
"Sure."

Wynter observed the students sharply as she waited for Max.
She scribbled here and there, flipped through the pages, adjusted some sketches.
Wynter was really smart, for a normal girl.
But she was more tired than usual.
She had a terrible nightmare.
But it's a secret.

Max was back and Wynter was reading the book with him.
"Wow~! You guys act like twins!" A high pitched voice broke them out of their "zone".
Max stared up at the blond girl (not Ino), "Yeah... I guess."
But inside, he was saying.
NO WE ARE COMPLETE OPPOSITES, STUPID.
Wynter smiled, "W-We r-really l-like reading." She smiled.
"W-We r-really l-like reading." The blond mimicked, waving her arms around, "Oh please. Can you drop the act?"
Wynter blinked in surprise, "W-What a-act?"
Blondie scoffed, "Stutter, stutter, stutter. If you're trying to get my Sasuke-Kun's attention, you best back off."
"I-I s-see. S-So w-what if I-I d-don't care?" Wynter gave a closed eyed smile and closed the red, worn out book.
Blondie flinched back, "Then shut up."
"Retard." Was Max's immediate reply.
Wynter sighed and opened the book back up, "Where did we leave off?" She asked with out stuttering and turned to the red book.

Wynter went home, thinking about her ninja career, "I specialize in ninjutsu and Taijutsu. But not so much in Genjutsu..."
Max commented, "I specialize in ninjutsu and Genjutsu."
"Yes, and we have an extraordinary sense of smell.." Wynter said slowly.
Max smirked and placed his arms behind his neck, "Then I think we're pretty set."
"Y-Yeah..." Wynter said, reverting back to her timid state.

Max grunted and focused on the target and gripped the dull kunai tight, "Alright..." He whispered and aimed.
Fire!
It hit on the white ring next to the red dot in the middle.
"That was close!" Max threw his arms up in surrender.
Iruka smiled, "You're improving, Max." He said as he wrote stuff down on a clip board.
"Okay, who's next.. Wynter!" He announced
Wynter had fixed a serious gaze onto the target, "Relax, Wynter." She whispered to herself and threw the kunai.
Thump!
It lodged right in the middle.
This was no surprise.
She had been practicing with her father.
Max hasn't been able to attend the practices, due to homework.
Wynter isn't trying to be perfect.
She's just trying to do her best.
So that she can be the best she can possibly be.
In other words, she's trying to be the best Wynter she can.

Wynter quickly wrote down the accuracy of all the interesting people. (Shikamaru, Naruto, Sasuke, etc.)
She sighed and rolled her wrists around.
"Man, this is such a drag." A voice broke her out of her thoughts.
Wynter looked to her right and saw Shikamaru and Choji standing in the back.
Choji, who had just finished a bag of chips, looked at Wynter, "Hey you're that new girl. The new guy's your brother, right?" He asked.
Wynter blinked, "U-Uh, y-yes. M-Max is m-my b-brother." She paused, "U-Uhm, S-Shikamaru N-Nara, a-and C-Choji A-Akimichi, r-right?" She said and smiled.
Shikamaru blinked, "Yeah that's right. How'd you- Nevermind. It's such a drag to ask questions." He yawned.
Wynter sighed, "W-Well, I-I found o-out b-by l-listening to I-Iruka-Sensei."
"Oh, so that's how you knew." Choji said as he munched in a new bag of chips.
Shikamaru stared at her suspiciously as she talked to Choji about different types of food.
There's no way she would've found out our names by just listening to Sensei. She doesn't pay much attention in class when he's calling out names... So how could she possibly.. Many theories and thoughts rushed through his head.
Shikamaru decided to take a break from thinking, and zoned back into Choji and Wynter's conversation.
Now they were talking about what they liked and didn't like.
"A-Ah, Shikamaru-San.. What d-do y-you l-like t-to do in y-your f-free t-time?" Wynter smiled as she stuttered.
Shikamaru yawned, "Sleep, watch the clouds, and play shoji."
"Interesting. Y-You m-must b-be a-a g-good player.." Wynter smiled.
Shikamaru shrugged a little, "Eh."

Edited June 12th, 2021:
I was reading through my old fanfictions and I was so disappointed to see that I used the r slur in this chapter. I apologize and please pm me if you see it in any other of my books. Most of my fanfictions are from a few years ago when I was a kid and not educated, and I thought the r slur was just another word for stupid. I know better now and I'm sorry if anyone got offended or had a "wtf?" moment.
It may not be a big deal to some people but it is to me and I take things like these very seriously.
