So... I understand that Jason's birthday is July 1st... but I'm just now getting around to writing this. Sorry!

Jason's POV

"There you are!" I heard someone shout behind me. Piper's voice.

"Here I am? I've been looking for you all morning!" I yelled back with a smile, walking towards her.

"Oh come on," she complained. "Next time just stay put." I laughed.

"I'll try.

She wrapped me in a hug and gave me a quick kiss. "Happy birthday Sparky."

I just stared at her blankly. Today was my birthday? I had completely forgotten.

"Oh my gods. Don't tell me you forgot you're own birthday."

"Uh, actually..."

"You're eighteen now! Like, a legal adult. You can vote and stuff."

"Do demigods vote?"

"Percy and Annabeth do. Because, you know, it's something that American citizens are supposed to do."

"Considering I pay no attention to mortal politics, I don't think I'll be doing much voting for the democracy."

Piper just shrugged. Then without warning, she started pulling me behind her towards the dining pavilion.

"What are we doing?" I asked.

"Surprise," she answered, and that was all she said.

I was staying at Camp Halfblood for most of the summer. Camp Jupiter was doing just fine without me and I was in California last year. And Camp Halfblood was certainly exciting right now. Annabeth was just putting the finishing touches on the first little area of the town that was being built near Halfblood Hill, like New Rome. After her and Percy had gone to college there for a year, she decided that the other side of the country needed a place for demigods to stay. It was going to be really nice.

"So," I asked Piper, "what are they having for breakfast?"

"We aren't going to breakfast," she said with a smirk.

"What? But I'm starv..." The words sort of died in my throat when I saw that no one was sitting at the tables under the pavilion. Well, except for one person.

"Hey Jason. Happy birthday," Annabeth told me and gave me a quick hug.

"Thanks. Where is everyone?"

"Surprise," she said, just like Piper. I groaned dramatically.

"Here, wear this," Piper instructed as she stood on one the benches and turned me around so she could tie a blindfold over my eyes.

"And this," Annabeth added while handing me headphones.

"Alright, a blindfold is one thing. But why headphones? It's not nice to kidnap a guy on his birthday."

"So you have no possible idea where we are taking you," Piper said smugly. I now couldn't see anything.

"But why?"
