Kat's POV
Shane got crazier everyday we got caught in a dead end. We've been looking for Mel for weeks now and we haven't had an ounce of luck.
Rick has tried to keep Shane under control, but it only makes everything worse. Carl doesn't seem to be doing well either. Saying he's a mess would be an understatement. It's like all of his energy has been put into finding Melanie.
"How you doing?" I turned and saw Daryl coming towards me.
"I don't even know how to answer that." I said truthfully. If anything happened to Mel, I don't know what I would do.
"We'll find her." I knew right away that ut was Carl. He continued, "She's stronger than you give her credit for. We will find her." With that, he left. The way he said that, it gave me hope.
"Guys!"
We walked over to Rick.
"What is it? Did you find something." I hoped. One little clue to was all I asked for. Just one shred of hope I could hold onto.
"We think we found something." Rick said. I sighed in relief. We were going to find her, alive.
Mel's POV
Somehow, we're still in the storehouse. The first morning we got here, I woke up to a sting on my forhead. I opened my eyes to see Clem rapping my head in bandages.
Seems she had woken up and used the last of her strengths to get the stuff she needed herself. She had cleaned her cut and sowed it up herself. I couldn't imagine how much it might've hurt.
Even after seeing we were still alive, the group we stumbled opon still treated us coldly. Except for Luke. He would sneek us food and had become somewhat of a friend.
A knock was heard on the door, and just as expected, it was Luke carrying two boals of what seemed to be outmeal.
"Hey girls." He said.
"Hey." Clem replyed, while I just smiled. He handed us our bowls.
"Thanks again, Luke." I smiled at him.
"No prob. Now get eatin' before I'm caught." He said. I joined Clem and began to eat. Compared to frog legs, this was amazing.
When we were done, we handed Lule the bowls. Before he left, I gave him one last smile and he returned it. So we might have gotten a bit closer of a connection than friends. Atleast I feel we have. In truth, I was starting to like him, just a bit.
I knew he was in his 20's so he was only a few years older, which I didn't see as much of a gap. I hoped he didn't either. I looked over to Clem to see her smirking at me.
"What is it?" I asked.
"You like him." Okay, blunt much.
"Pfft, nah." I hoped she wouldn't say anymore, but you don't always get what you want.
"Come on, you so do." She pressed. I smiled and pat her head.
"Yeah yeah." I laughed. "So, why were you in that shed? What happened?" I asked. I never really got around to asking, but I was tired of being in the dark.
"After everything went down, I had no place to go. For a few days before I met you guys, I was by myself." She sighed and continued.
"One day I got really hungry, so when I stumbled opon an old campsite, I scavenged the place looking for something to eat. One thing led to another and a crazy dog attacked me trying to take the food. That's how I hot this cut."
"So I'm guessing when my people found you-"
"They thought I was bit and put me in the shed just like these people did." She said, interrupting me. "Yea."
"Well, you're one of us now. I'll make sure of it. You seem like someone I shouldn't take lightly." I said slyly. Clem giggled, as did I.
She opened her mouth but stopped when she heard it. I froze in place as well.
"Mel! Are you here?!" It was Kat.
"Mel?!" And Carl.
Everyone finally came. They finally found us. Almost instantly me and Clem began to scream, "We're in here!"
"Melanie?!" I heard me dad scream. In a few moments the shed door was bashed open. I saw my dad and Rick, followed by Kat and Carl.
"Took you long enough!" I joked. I ran into my dad's arms.
"What is she doing here?!" My dad asked.
"Dad it's okay. Clem is one of us now and I'm not going to argue over it." I said sternly.
"Hey, what the hell are you doing?!" Carlos, Luke, and someone else I didn't recognize came out of the house.
"We're just taking back our people." Rick said, taking a protective stance.
"Then take them and go. We don't need trouble." He said. I looked over to Luke, only to see him agree. It hurt me a bit to see him agree so easily, but maybe it was for the best.
That was the last thought I had, before I died.
