explanations..

These are going to be questions that I think you guys might ask about the book...well because it's confusing, I'm confusing too so you'll have to forgive me.

So its going to work like this...I'll write down the questions on one side and the explanations on the other.

Why are the first 2 chapters so short?

Well I think it's mostly because she is only a child in the first two 4&7 years of age doesn't count for much activity especially for cosette. She doesn't have any toys or friends so there wouldn't be much to write  other than the fact that her parents starve her and she eats paper. (biggest occurrence of her age was what I was going for) and I thought of the first two chapters in class while I was in the mist of dying from boredom so that could also be it.😄

Why did the uncle adopt her if he louths her so much?

It really wasn't his choice.the nuns at the orphanage began to think she was a witch and decide she couldn't live with them any longer and seeing that no other orphanage wanted her she was forced upon her uncle. He obviously hated it but after sometime saw that he could make money out of her buy stealing her paintings and selling them...after a while cosette caught on and began to draw specific paintings for him to steal/sell. 

Why did cossetes mom hate her so much?

She was only 15 when she had cosette..a disgrace to her family in the long run. She blamed cosette for being thrown out of her fathers house. Since Cosette's father wouldn't let her kill the child she decided to starve her to death... She also blames Cosette for her husband not loving her anymore. (Then again who'd love her she's a manic 😃lol)

What's the deal with Cosette's father?

He just... Well its not like he didn't love her...he just wasn't in the right mind and figured if he sees her less then it'll be easier not to hate her..because he's life was ruined too but he was smarter than to think it was Cosette's fault that's why he didn't want to kill her but also didn't want to know her. But after awhile he couldn't handle it  and decided to spend extra time in the gas station at work.. So really he committed suicide because of guilt I guess for leaving Cosette alone with her mother and for hating her for no reason. ( he never loved Cosette's mother he was just a horny teenager that made a mistake with another teenager.)

Why was cosette bleeding in age 14? 

She was on her period. Her uncles girlfriend really never told her anything about puberty. And the some kids  also didn't have much experience in it while others just hated her.

Where does this all take place? 

In France if you weren't sure ( that's why they have funny names). I'm not French nor do I know anything about them so if somethings I wrote is wrong please inform me.

Why does she think she's the paper queen? 

Well it's evident in the book that she uses paper as a way to cope with hunger/pain/stress anything possible so when she's seven she creates this world...universe actually where everything is good and pure and well white . she also creates fantine the warrior of the kingdom in her universe .fantine is also her only friend and helps her be brave and power through the hard times bit when she has 'ponine she passes fantine onto her child so she no longer has her warrior to keep her going and well you know how it ended. She also thought herself queen because of her appearance ie her pale white skin,bleach blonde hair, Grey eyes that she preferred to call silver and her her paper lightness that is caused you malnutrition.

What's with the sudden Christianity ?

I always felt she was christian.. Just relied more on her papers for guidance. Since the Christan orphanage she saw how amazing God was by getting her out of the nasty orphanage and helping her make money so she did her bit by giving money to the nearest church when she could.
