It was the day to go to a place I didn't even want to go to. I had to dress in a uniform. I wore a white t shirt with the insignia on the top left. I also wore gray leggings with a navy blue skirt over it, and a navy blue sweater. We got into the van and headed to my new school. It was not how I imagined it. It was by a strip mall. Holy crap. I went inside and immediately found my home room. I sat quietly in a seat burying my head in my arms. I looked up for a minute to see my classmates. They were nothing like me. The girls were all so pretty. They looked like they weren't even real. Like they were Barbie dolls. The boys weren't so bad either. All of them looked cute, but they were just to annoying for me to care.
"Good morning guys and girls!" I heard the voice of an attractive young woman who I was guessing my Homeroom teacher. "I'm your homeroom teacher, Ms. Saffron." She looked to be about 25 and wore a hot pink tank top half covered by a black sweater, and some black leggings.
She then assigned our lockers and seating arrangements. The bell rang and we went to our first hour class. I walked into a room where there was a woman with long red hair and black suit with green jewelry.
"Excuse me mam. Is this English?" I asked shyly.
"Yes. I'm your teacher Ms. Oen." She sat me between a girl with straight brown hair and fair skin and an Indian boy who was so involved in talking he didn't even notice I sat down.
"I'm Clara. Welcome to Everest." She had a smile on her face and sparkle in her eye.
"I'm Alana." I said quickly. I wasn't used to this place, and I hated it.
After English, I went to gym. We did absolutely nothing. We went outside in a fenced in part of the parking lot. There was a lot of pot holes. After "gym", I had Spanish. I walked in and saw a man who looked to be 48. He was partly bald and wore a suit with a checkered tie. He sat me next to a boy, but I didn't see his face because he was writing. He finally looked up and I saw his face. He had dirty blonde hair and square brown glasses. He flashed me a smile and then went back to work. I looked away. He looks like a total geek.
"Ok so what were going to do is an assignment of two people doing a conversation in Spanish." said our teacher Sr. Ford.
I was paired with none other than the geek.
"Hello. I'm Karsten." He said as I was thinking.
"I'm Alana. So how long have you been going here?"
"Two years."
"Cool. I've never been to school before."
"You mean this school?" he asked. His voice was even geeky.
"No. school period. I was home schooled before." As me and Karsten talked, the bell was about to ring so we had to pack up. "Nice meeting you. Hopefully we can get started tomorrow." I said as the bell rang.
"Or we could do it at lunch?" He looked at me hopeful. I didn't want to sit by myself.
"Ok. see you then." I walked down the hall to my next class.
