You and Daveed were in a good place and you were happy, but something was telling you that Evan couldn't stay away for long.
It had been a couple days since your mental breakdown during your date with Daveed. You didn't want to talk about it but you knew he would make you.
"Hey, Ricky," you greet him.
"Y/N! It is about time you showed up. I need you to clean off those tables over there and then when you're done with that, you can-"
"Actually, Rick, I need some time. I don't know if this is the end or just a pause in the middle, but I can't work here anymore. I quit." You could see Evan out of the corner of your eye and you knew he was eavesdropping.
He stopped you before you could walk out the door. "Wait, Y/N, where are you going?," he asked, grabbing you by the arm.
"I quit," you answered, simply.
You prepared all that you could on your way to Diggs Studios before facing Daveed with your entire life story.
"Daveed?," you knocked.
"Y/N, you're here," he said, surprised.
"I wasn't sure if I was going to come today. It certainly didn't stop me from going a-wall the past few days. I'm sorry."
"It wasn't your fault-
"Yes, it was. I let my emotions get in the way of us having fun and I feel you should deserve to know why."
You quickly sat before beginning your story. Daveed immediately shut his laptop to listen.
A few years ago, my family adopted a three year old girl. Her name is Amberlyn and she's my sister. Um, a couple years after, my mother was killed in a car accident and it took time, but I thought we were all fine. Turns out, my father wasn't and he took his own life."
Daveed took his hand from yours to wipe your tear.
"Evan was the one who helped me bury my fathers body..."
"At Square Hill Garden," Daveed assumed.
"Yeah. I know its purpose isn't a cemetery, but it was where my parents met and my mother said she wanted to be buried there so we thought why not."
"I'm so sorry, Y/N. I had no idea," he sympathized.
"I know. I had to tell you. I quit my job today, Daveed."
"Even if you don't want to be with Evan the way he wants to be with you, you still love him. Don't forget that, okay?"
You nodded.
Your phone started to ring and you both knew who it was. You quickly wiped your tears so Evan couldn't tell you were crying.
"I have to go talk to Lele for a quick second. I will be back." Daveed leaves the room while you talk to Evan.
"Lele, can I talk to you?"
"Please do."
"This is serious. Y/N just told me everything about her and-
"Oh, have you told her about-
"No! That's why I'm having this conversation with you."
"Are you going to tell her?"
"I don't know, Lele. I thought she would've found out on her own by now."
"Daveed when you met this girl, she knew nothing about you. What made you think she would find out about this? You have to tell her."
"I will. I just have to find the right time," Daveed thought.
"Make sure it's before Rafael's party."
"Shit. I forgot about that. When is it?"
"Next Saturday."
"This is why you're the best in the business. Its why I love you."
"You love me?!"
"Not that way and you know that," he responded walking away.
Daveed walked into the room and noticed you were looking much better.
"Hey, where did you go?"
"Just to talk to Lele about some upcoming events. What did Evan say?"
"He wants to meet me tomorrow to talk. Should I go?"
"Yes. Go," Daveed pushed. "And afterward, we will redo that date."
"So it was a date..."
"Yeah. It was pretty obvious."
You chuckled.
A/N: I actually don't have words except I'm sorry. More soon. I PROMISE.🌹
