Connor's POV

We had been stuck in this lift for nearly 3 hours and I was needing a piss. I had sung a couple songs with Loey to calm her down and then she started crying and telling me everything that was going on with her and her brother, which made me feel like an absolute arsehole about how I had been treating her lately without actually getting to know her.

I had pulled her into my lap as I leaned against the elevator walls and cuddled her until she ultimately fell asleep. Luckily, I had taken off my jacket and folded it up to form some sort of weird shaped pillow and placed it on my thighs as I tried to move her to lay her head on my lap so I could pull my phone out.

I had a text from Tris earlier, saying Brad and Joe had gone to try and get someone to come get us out and that he was keeping James away from the Maynards, saying something about how Jack now looked like some sort of Picasso....

Guess we just have to wait it out longer.

Joe's POV

Brad had come with me to the apartments maintenance place so we could try and see if someone could get my sister out of the elevator. Loey didn't exactly like them.

"Joe.... Loey freaked out like a lot when it happened." Brad spoke up, making me pull out of my thoughts. I looked to my right and saw him with his hands deep in his pockets, almost looking a lot younger then he actually was.

"Yeah. She doesn't exactly like elevators much." Simple enough but he looked at me as if to say 'carry on' so with a sigh and a nod, I dove into the story.

"Loey was roughly seven, we were shopping with our parents around Christmas time and Loey got distracted by everything a kid would do. I was around ten and Zoe was eleven. Zoe had always been the more mature one out of us three. Anyways Loey couldn't find us so she thought we had gone in the elevator to the second floor of the department store so she went up and then Mum freaked out cause she couldn't find her anywhere. Dad took Zoe to go look for her and Mum kept me close to her side as we doubled back around to see if she was falling behind. We couldn't find her anyways and then we heard a yelp coming from the elevators behind. We turned around just as Zoe managed to jump into the elevator before the doors closed. Dad clicked the button to try and get it to open again but it didn't. It jolted a lot and there was a groan like noise coming from it. Mum and I rushed over and Dad was full on protective mode and Mum was about to burst out crying. Dad had explain that Loey was in the lift and playing around with this toy thing she had picked up to notice him and Zoe so, Zoe jumped in at the last minute to get to Loey. The department store maintenance guys came out to grab the girls out and they managed to open the doors and grab the girls, Thankfully, Zoe managed to get Loey to sit next to her near the door so it would be quicker to get out. The maintenance guys managed to grab them out just as the elevator chords snapped and they just dropped. Loey's leg was still in the way so she had a real nasty cut down her calf that left a scar, which has faded a little over time but she still has it. Zoe was fine but Loey freaked out. Zoe had told Dad when Mum went into the hospital room with Loey that Loe was freaking out about the small space and that she was going to die without saying bye to mum or dad her rabbit. Since then Loey's been okay in elevators but when they breakdown she freaks out, thinking they're gonna snap and fall. She's okay with the ones in the apartments but if they make a noise it wobble or anything she takes the stairs just to be safe." We had reached the maintenance place just as I finish up and then look at Brad, who was looking at his feet a little with furrowed eyebrows. It was a lot to take in, Loey never really seemed like the type of girl to have any fears cause she was a goofball like myself. Deep down, she knows when she hates something.

"Here we go..." I pushed opened the door and went to find the person we needed.

Another hour passed until the maintenance guys managed to get the doors opened the the elevator enough for us to call through.

"Connor, we're getting you out." I called through quickly as the guys pulled on the doors.

"Loey's asleep." He shot out quickly, which took me by surprise. The maintenance men got the doors open enough for Connor to walk through with Loey asleep in his arms.

"How?" I ask him.

"We sang and then she talked about her fight with you and cried herself to sleep while I held her." I frown at his words as my eyes stay in Loey. Her hand reaches out and grabs mine, meaning she's woken up.

"I'm sorry.... I love you, Broseph." Her voice came out small and weak.

"I love you too, Loe and I'm also sorry. I was a proper arseface to you," I manage to say to her as I pet her hair before she falls asleep again. Connor hands Loey over to Brad, who holds her like she's the most precious thing in the world, which to me she is.

"Come on, love. Let's get you upstairs," I hear Brad tell her softly before carrying her to the stairs with his band mates following close behind. Conor comes over to me after making sure Jack is taken care of.

"I'm sorry about Jack, I don't know what's gotten into him lately..." I smile small at the oldest Maynard.

"Loey passed over him to stay with Brad. I'd be kinda pissed too but if he calls my sister a whore one more time, my friendship with him is over," I tell Conor before walking away to inform Zoe of today's events.
