//ANDY POV//

"Andrew Biersack."

I walked in a room it was surprising to know there was electricity since the power went out. In my curiosity, I asked. "How the hell is this working? The power went out years ago."

A woman with dark hair turned around and pointed to a silver pendant-like object. It looked similar to a flash drive and was connected to a system with a bunch of wires. "That's what makes them work. I'm assuming you are a stiff."

"Abnegation."

"All Abnegation ask those questions. Please, sit down." She replied, seeming annoyed.

I sat down in a metal chair as a wire was connected to my head leading to a computer.

"You can see my thoughts?"

The woman nodded as she got me a glass of some clear liquid, like water. But there was no way that was water.

"Bottoms up."

I sniffed the drink. No scent, no odor. As I shut my eyes and hesitantly drank the liquid, the woman spoke.

"You will be going through three tests while the system makes the results of which faction you belong. It is not a decision it is only a suggestion. You get to choose. The rest of your life depends on today. Good luck."

My eyes opened. The woman was gone. I was now standing in some empty canteen, it was now snowing outside.

There were two tables in front of me, one held a hunk of cheese. The other a knife over one foot long.

As I stepped outside of the canteen, a male voice, sounding similar to mine spoke.

"Choose."

"Why should I choose?" I asked.

"Choose."

I look around, nobody is there. It was just me. Alone.

"Fine. have it your way."

I saw a dog with a pointed nose stand yards from me. It crouched, growled, and snarled. I was terrified but I bowed down on one knee. I certainly wasn't willing to kill it. Not yet anyway. In my luck, the dog accepted the gesture, and I proceeded to stroke the dog. A girl suddenly appeared, dressed in white.

Puppy!" She cried out in joy.

The dog growled, snapped, and pounced toward the girl. I hurled my body and pinned the dog as the scene dissolved.

Now I was on a bus. I looked around and all the seats were taken but one in the back. As I moved towards the seat, a man stopped me by grabbing my arm as he clenched the newspaper.

"Do you know this guy?" He asked.

I couldn't recognize the man in the picture at all.

"I have no idea who he is, sir. I'm sorry." I replied.

"You liar! You liar!" He yelled as he took out a gun and aimed it towards me. "LIAR!"

Before I could do anything, I blinked. My eyes opened. I was back in the testing room. the woman looked at me.

"Your results were inconclusive." She finally said after giving a stare of shock and worry.

"What?"

"Typically three or four factions out of five are eliminated. You only eliminated two."

"Two?"

"Choosing the cheese would’ve confirmed your aptitude for peace, and therefore Amity. Choosing the knife would’ve confirmed otherwise. You lied to the man on the bus, and your dishonestly ruled out Candor, only they tell the truth on that one. But that leaves us a problem, people who tell truth, are Candor, and Abnegation."

She could tell I was confused and continued.

"But, you threw yourself at the dog in selflessness for the girl. That confirms Abnegation, but on the bus when the man said that you could save him you didn’t tell the truth. Which rules out Abnegation."

"The results?"

"Abnegation, Dauntless, and Erudite. People that display more than two factions in results are..."

She suddenly tenses up and whispers.

"Divergent. It's very rare. Nobody can know about it not even your parents. It's for your own good. I put you down in the results as Abnegation and if anyone asks your results you must tell them Abnegation. Do you understand?"

I nodded as the woman escorted me back out.

I had to think and not let the results get to me.

I had to choose my faction.

In three hours.
